I believe that is right. I wonder if anyone else has? Off the
top of myhead perhaps Steve Bennett. Of course, it is very
unlikely to happen now with the separate paths of AR and Referee
though perhaps Darren England may yet emulate the feat. I think
he has been AR at the FA Cup Final, I will have to check

Yes, checking the List of FA Cup Final Officials I think it is
only Barber and Bennett who have the hat-trick. One other
current practitioner who may yet achieve this, along with Darren
England, is John Brooks.
You can tell I'm semi-retired now; far too much time on my hands

In the 1960s Keith Walker started out in Lancashire (Blackpool
or Preston or both) and ended up in Maidstone.

Indeed. Keith started out his FL career in Blackpool and it is
said that he spent a season in Preston although Upton's does not
mention this. He moved south to Bearsted near Maidstone where he
continued as a FL referee, moving on to Ashford in his last two
seasons on the list. He retired early to become Secretary of
Sheffield United and subsequently returned to Blackpool where (I
believe) he was a Director for some years. Always known as a
'hard man' in refereeing terms, Keith had a particular run in
with The Doog, Derek Dougan, after sending him off in a game
involving Wolverhampton. Keith died in 1996. I recall we had the
great pleasure on the old RTR site of hearing from a member of
his family.

Gordon Hill went from Bacup to Scunthorpe to Leicester before
ending up in Plymouth, Michigan where he finished his career on
the NASL
