Aston Villa v Leicester - Mike Dean & lee Mason (VAR)

Can someone explain how that was not a penalty for Leicester
after Marvelous Nakamba handled inside the area. Seemed to tick
all the boxes for one unnatural made himself bigger. So how both
Dean (had a great view) and Mason decide that's not a penalty
under new interpretations I don't understand.

This is why when commentators from non VAR games say, VAR would
have had a look at that, I think, with these officials, it still
wouldn't be given, the officials aren't good enough.
I had a feeling that the Shrewsbury handball vs Liverpool
wouldn't be the only handball this week.

I don't really remember this specific incident but I think
(defensive) handballs are still very rarely given in England as
a general rule.
I thought Mike Dean's general handling of the game was excellent
and it was a very enjoyable cup tie.

That’s all well and good. But the main thing referees are judged
on - decision making (KMI’s) - and Mike dean got this wrong.

The card shark is performing miles better than Taylor at
present. He is pretty close to Oliver IMO for the best official
in recent times.

Is this the one we're talking about?

I'm not really surprised that wasn't given. Very few penalties
have been given for handball in Premier League this season, even
fewer by VAR. I think the benefit tends to go to the defender
rather than the law book consistently in England - in general, I
prefer PL's approach than Europe where I think handballs are
often given very generously.

I could just about understand if it hit the hand in front of his
face (although trying to head the ball might be an idea) but it
hits the back hand, away from his body.
If attackers are having goals ruled out for non deliberate but
game changing handballs then this to me is a penalty.
