I see from the AARs they are using a current FIFA referee and an
ex-FIFA referee on each of the games with the English referee
team. I know in the past the likes of Jon Moss, Lee Mason has
performed this role even though both have never been on the FIFA
list.
Has Mike Dean ever been an AAR given his status of being an
ex-holder of the white badge as I can't recall him doing this
role? I would actually love to see him doing this and can you
imagine a few years ago of having him at one end and Phil Dowd
at the other end! :o ;D

Any views on Mazic only showing a yellow card for the Inter
keeper handling outside the penalty area - it looked a pretty
straightforward red card to me.
As for Skomina, I had him down as the favourite for the final
going into the season but he'll have to improve significantly.

He'd be giving out red cards from behind the goal!
On a serious note, always thought it was a shame that Dean never
got the international career he deserved - in many ways his
style was better suited to international games

To quote of the big names at IFAB: Pearce and Mills are
embarrassing on @btsport not every handball offence by a goalie
is a red card #knowthelaws
He certainly knows them better than I do so I'll go by what he
said.

This is of course true but on this occasion I would certainly
say there was an obvious goal scoring opportunity.

Mazic with the stand out tie. Important observer for him as
well.
Given a few lesser known officials are getting CL games, I’m
surprised by the number of insignificant observers assigned to
their games.

I've always felt rather sorry for those Observers not considered
important. Things are even worse now that they are classified as
"insignificant." Shades of the days when there was a talent
group of referees ... and a whole raft of those presumably
without talent.
