The real top at the moment:
Brych, Çakır, Kuipers, Marciniak, Mateu Lahoz, Maić,
Orsato, Rocchi, Skomina, Turpin
Rather safe pairs of hand but not the highest level of
man-management. Still appointed to quite big games though
Collum, Hațegan, Karasov, Undiano Mallenco
Top referees in next years
Bastien, Gil Manzano, Makkelie, Oliver, Zwayer
Rather not considered as real elite at the moment
Aytekin, Kassai, Královec, Sidirópoulos, Soares Dias, Taylor
The ones for the future from First Category

Strange I always liked Kassai and kralovec as good decision
makers never got much wrong and always has that calm Laid back
style that wins players over

Can I ask to what extent performances in the various domestic
leagues affect U.E.F.A.'s opinions of a referee as opposed to
just their performances in European games? I hope the fact that
Oliver has a 2nd leg EL game while Taylor has a CL match isn't
an indicator of U.E.F.A.s view of the RM-Juve game which edy
referred to. It's a pity there isn't a video with soundtrack of
the conversations of the controversial incidents (in the public
domain) similar to the one available of the play leading up to
the Chelsea penalty in the FA Cup Final which in my opinion will
have done Oliver no harm whatsoever.
Like whistleblower, I would have thought the WC would have
damaged Brych's reputation and I'm not sure Cakir's was
enhanced. Incidentally, I see Mike Riley is observing Cakir.
That could be interesting for a fly on the wall for the post
match discussion!

Lot of domestic issues in Hungary at present which is affecting
the FIFA level referees in particular and UEFAs willingness to
use them.

In my opinion, Anthony Taylor underpunished the tackle of Ryas
(BATE); it should've been a red card for serious foul play. In
case of Bertrand Layec thinking the same, he will get 7.9...

Although the tackle was out of control, sliding in and foot
raised, there was no contact. Hard to sell a red card there, I
would support yellow. Team in possession were actually annoyed
Taylor had stopped the game even to penalise

Yellow for me too. Despite the player using studs and the foot
is raised, intensity can be described as medium.

A good set of appointments. Cakir with the stand out game so
should be a safe pair of hands. Another good match for Collum in
Monaco. Turpin for Spurs with an important observer.
