Has to be Marriner for one of them, however Atkinson is probably
a decent favourite to get one also.

I believe Marriner is a Villa fan and Friend doesn't referee
Leicester so that's a limiting factor. Moss has Man Utd V
Burnley and did Aston Villa V Man City the weekend just gone too
so not sure he'll get one.
I'd say Atkinson almost certainly (although not convinced he
deserves one) and maybe Graham Scott for Aston Villa V
Leicester?

Perhaps its just me but I sometimes hope that one these
seminars clashes with weekend fixtures as it would mean a number
of SG2 refs stepping up and being given a chance to ref in the
PL. They are after all professionals and, in some cases, better
than those who are part if the SG1. Failing that, perhaps a
couple of weekends a year where SG2 refs get a good portion of
the PL matches while their colleagues on SG1 have a taster of
life back in the Championship. It would freshen things up a bit
and be a carrot for those aspiring to SG1 level to know that
they could be in line for a shot at a PL game once or twice a
year, performance permitting
I know it wont happen but dream on ..........

I'm sure the PL teams would love the likes of Simpson and Martin
ruining games in the top flight... ;D

Whole heartedly agree, thats why only certain refs should be
given the chance. Neither of these would be anywhere near a PL
game if I had my way

No great surprise with Andre refereeing the Manchester derby,
but Mike preferred to Atkinson is a bit of a surprise. A weekend
of congrats to Mike continues. I hope that both of you and your
teams have great evenings. Now who's going to have a Happy St
David's Day at Wembley? Kavanagh, Scott or Mason....?

Mike Dean getting both legs shows the lack of depth in English
top flight refereeing at the moment!
I know there is a European conference but I remember times where
you had 10-12 refs capable of handling cup semis. Eg in 2002-03
when you had Poll, Barber, Winter, Durkin, Halsey, Riley, Wiley,
Bennett, Styles, Dunn, Gallagher. Level of top talent seems a
lot thinner now.

Dean getting two semi-finals shows how good he is. I wonder if
they hadn't planned ahead from the first legs because it was a
bit surprising that neither Oliver or Taylor were used then if
they weren't available for the second.
I presume VAR will be used again, probably Atkinson and Mason
considering the other appointments.
I think Tierney has a decent chance for the final.

Agreed I think it will be Tierney, and Coote on 4th official
