Congratulations to all officials appointed. Mike Dean deservedly
gets the Manchester derby IMO after another excellent season
this term, and Chris Kavanagh and his team clearly feature
heavily in the plans of the PGMOL for the future!
Thinking about the final, who do people think will be given the
appointment? Looking at the current list, not many officials
seem to have the required experience who haven't already
refereed the final. The options (from what I can tell) are Lee
Mason, Paul Tierney and Stuart Attwell. Chris Kavanagh could
also be on this list, but his appointment to the Semi Final
suggests that he is not being considered for the final. If I was
a betting man, I reckon Tierney is probably the best bet!

Happy with these appointments. I rate both Dean and Kavanagh
       highly.
Will the FIFA referees be available for the second legs? It
seems there's often a UEFA seminar in the last midweek of
       January.
I'd probably make Tierney favourite for the final. Mason, Scott
and Attwell seem to have had reasonably solid seasons from what
I've seen. I can't think of another likely candidate off the top
of my head - too soon for the likes of Coote and Madley I would
       think.

Oliver and Taylor for the second legs?
Seems tierney is on course for the final- unless one of the big
       hitters has it again?

Only George Courtney (1983 and 1992) has refereed two League Cup
Finals, and if this was to be repeated this season, I would go
for Mike Dean although this now seems less likely. I would go
for Paul Tierney this year with Lee Mason as a possible
       alternative.

It looks like all eight of England's FIFA referees will be away
on seminars for the midweek of the second legs so the non-FIFA
referees will be taking the second legs and West Ham V Liverpool
in the PL (not a great surprise - there always tends to be a
       seminar this midweek.)

At a guess I'd say two of Moss, Marriner and Friend.

Friend won’t have united as he had them last night. Moss has
united v Burnley so probably won’t be him either...
