Some real card fests this afternoon... Huxtable hitting double
digits and Kettle enjoying the festive season by flashing 11
yellows and 2 reds at Cambridge.

Meanwhile, no cards at all at Burton v Rochdale.

Nine yellows and a red from Lee Swabey at Oxford v Wycombe
yesterday. All perfectly justified in a tetchy match with
perhaps just one yellow being a tad harsh but not wrong.

No cards at all at Coventry vs Lincoln either and a poor
performance from all of the officials

Prize for the first referee to 100 Yellow Cards this season goes
to Alan Young, in only his second season at Senior Level. So
far this season, he has had 3 seven-card games, 1 nine-card game
and 1 eleven-card game. In his first season last year, he
finished second to Mike Dean with the highest average yellows
per game. A new shark circling??

And by all accounts given the poor reports he has received from
contributions on this forum he isn't very good....

I was just having a look at his record and he has issued 251
cautions and 6 disimissals in 56 games since moving into the
Football League.
Prior to his move into the League he had refereed 64 games and
issued 248 cautions and 15 dismissals.
Always difficult to judge when you are not at the games,
however, those figures do seem a bit high!
Never mind, he can celebrate his next caution ---it will be his
500th.

I'm surprised Breakspear or Kettle weren't first to the honour
this season of a hundred cards.

That's the only way you will be able to compare Alan Young to a
referee such as Mike Dean.
This season's eleven card performance was well documented on
here.

The phrase " not fit to tie the bootstraps" comes to mind.
