Yes. He put his flag up with no good reason to (confirmed by
Wilders interview that clubs were informed assistants will not
raise the flag unless they are 100% sure). With such a tight
judgement call he should have kept the flag down (especially as
he got it wrong), and if he had done that then the whole farce
would not have happened

The appointments were made before last night

But why is an official being appointed to back to back games of
the same club anyway? This is exactly the reason why this
shouldn’t happen, very poor appointing

You mean failing to spot Carroll being played onside by about
1cm?

I agree with you on that. I was always led to believe that the
computer system had a built in check thingy (technical term) to
prevent it from happening.

He thought it was offside which is a very good reason,
especially as there was no imminent goal-scoring opportunity at
the moment Carroll jumped for the ball.

When I see Derek Eaton mentioned, I always think of an incorrect
offside decision by him when Man City 2 v Liverpool 1 December
2013 when Raheem Sterling was incorrectly flagged for offside.
