Think context is important here. Liverpool were under the cosh
and were taking an age to get set up, granted the new keeper had
just come on but there still a limit. Perhaps Atkinson could
have shouted something like "I'm restarting in three seconds"
but he isn't obliged to.

There was a Brighton player less than a metre from one of the
three Liverpool players in the wall, so the goal was incorrect
in Law.

It’s not something that the VAR concerns himself with, like
keeper movement off the line on penalty kicks.

Personally I’d rather VAR didn’t get involved with anything but
that’s another debate.
Regardless of being wrong in Law it was poor technique. Control
the controllables as they say. I’d have a riot on my hands doing
that in a Supply League game.

It was all a bit tongue in cheek given my status as a bitter and
twisted Man City fan and someone still very sceptical about VAR.
Didn’t expect such a reaction but good that we can all still
express our views whatever they may be through this site.
Happy Christmas everyone! 🎄 (and lets hope for a new
year in which VAR decisions are given in favour of teams other
than Liverpool - whoops, sorry! 🤪)
