Appointments on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for Mike Dean must
be quite unusual?
I reckon Oliver will get Liverpool V Man City now in a few
weeks.
Atkinson on Arsenal again will raise eyebrows!
Good to see Madley get another PL game - he did well on Brighton
V Everton last season. Hope Graham Scott makes his live game
this time!
I think generally a good set of appointments.

Atkinson did Arsenals last home premier league game, and has now
had them 4 times this season. He might as well move into the
emirates at this rate.

It would appear that Hooper cannot establish himself at PL level
and it's difficult to see how he can unless he is given more
matches. I know there are some posters on RTR who believe he is
nowhere near good enough to be in the SG1 but now the
authorities have put him there ( for whatever reason ) they
ought to try and elicit the potential which they believe they
saw in him presumably backed up by Observer's reports when he
was in SG2.

I agree entirely. If Hooper is not going to be used in the PL,
why not demote him to SG2 (still a full time contracted role)
and open up the space to allow another referee to progress who
has the potential to reach the FIFA list.
Alternatively, allow Hooper to referee the occasional PL game (1
every 3 weeks?) rather than overworking the same officials.
As for Atkinson at Arsenal, his frequency of appointment
highlights the ridiculous situation the PL are in with a lack of
trusted officials. Add that to the ridiculous use (or lack of)
from VAR and surely it is time a replacement was sought for Mike
Riley.

Presumably because he would take them to the cleaners HR wise.
PGMOL: "Sorry, we are demoting you because your performances
haven't been good enough"
SH: "But you've only given me one PL game since you promoted me"
PGMOL: "Yes, but we've realised we shouldn't have promoted you
in the first place"
SH: "Hello, is that the unfairly dismissed helpline?"
It would be akin to employing a salesman and then sacking him
after his first cold call didn't lead to a sale.

Let's not forget that he was on the PL list last season too
where he seemed to perform poorly in quite a few of the
(limited) PL games he did do. His performances outside the PL
should be considered too if necessary.
I agree with the general point that it seems once an official is
promoted they are pretty secure and it is rare that they are
then demoted.
The PGMOL seem to have ended up in limbo a bit here - it's
really down to their own making because I don't think Hooper
should ever have been promoted in the first place. Now they
might be stuck with him on the PL for the next 10+ years.
