For gods sake Riley allow your officials to view the VAR
monitors!!!!
Surely that’s a foul on Origi before the break away where Man U
scored. Is Coote too scared to over rule Atkinson?!

Absolute waste of space. Atkinson should have seen it anyway but
that’s a foul and arguably a yellow card. What a surprise they
see the ball brush Mane’s arm.
VAR is killing the game.

I really can't understand why all the negativity about VAR
---after all --it has been introduced for the good of the game
--so it must be the way forward ---and it does provide takling
points away from the actual football.
The game at the top level is going to the dogs --aided and
abetted by TV and the media. Enjoy!

Because it’s not being used even 1% to it’s potential.
Riley has completely screwed up its introduction and it’s use.
It’s time for Riley to go.

A very poor performance from a match official who is normally
reliable. The decision of a “Junior” referee as VAR to such a
game is another embarrassing moment from the incompetent Mike
Riley.

I'm a neutral in OZ and I thought Atkinson was disappointing.
Not the normal 'steady pair of hands' that he is described as.
Should of cautioned two MU players for deliberate breaking up
play. Result fair, Liverpool were not their best in the first
half.

The spectre of Riley denying Liverpool anything at Old Trafford
continues.
I rate Martin Atkinson but he was poor today. There’s just no
excuse for him missing the foul on Origi and although he was
correct to caution Fabinho he missed a nailed-on caution for
Young. His foul detection was inconsistent throughout.

It was clearly a foul on Origi. It looks like Atkinson's view
was blocked so doubt he even saw it originally.
Mike Riley's leadership of VAR has been woeful. The
implementation in the PL has pretty much failed - the only
successes have been things that they couldn't get wrong with the
system (offside in Man Utd V Arsenal game for instance.)
If Riley was a club manager he would go.

This may not be popular but...….
Martin Atkinson has obviously said over the mic he is happy it
is not a free-kick.
I along with most felt it was but here comes the crunch
regarding VAR.
It is/was a SUBJECTIVE decision based on THE OPINION of the
referee.
If he has said he is happy with it then it is not for the VAR to
overrule as it is not a CLEAR AND OBVIOUS ERROR.
As I have said, I disagree with the o field decision bit VAR is
not to blame for this one...…..
