K STROUD - Cardiff v Sheff W

Clearly Stroud is trying to keep Colin quiet tonight with some
appalling decisions and inconsistency.
At least two fouls were not fouls as the ball was clearly won,
and Hutchison was carded for much less of a foul than the likes
of Peltier who sinned earlier.
Usual inconsistent dross.

Obviously as an owl I'm a bit biased, but that wasn't a great
half for Keith Stroud. How Peltier wasn't cautioned after he
chopped down Harris after he got past him is a total mystery,
everyone there was expecting a card including Peltier himself.
No problem with Hutchinson's caution (he is a walking card) in
isolation, but it certainly wasn't consistent with his other
decisions.

What’s people’s thoughts on the Cardiff equaliser then. Offside
or not in behind the wall?

Clearly offside
surely even under the new laws a 6'6" player cannot stand 4
yards offside from a free kick in the centre of goal jumping and
waving hands and making no attempt to get back onside has tobe
judged as interfering or whatever they call it now
Mind you with Keith Stroud in charge anything goes

It shouldn't have been a free kick in the first place!!
As for the jumping up and down theatrics by Flint, how on earth
the officials judged him not to be interfering is beyond
ridiculous.
Terrible officiating.

I'm just baffled to be honest. It wasn't even close to being a
free kick in the first place, Tomlin just ran into Luongo. But
regardless of that, how on earth can a 6'7" centre back standing
a mile offside directly in front of the keeper not be
interfering with an opponent, especially when he is doing star
jumps. Can't just blame the assistant, he can see the offside
offence but Keith Stroud can also see it and he also has the
view that Flint was directly between the ball and Dawson.
As I say, baffling.

Looked a shocking decision to me to award the free kick in the
first place

Tbh I think it’s a great shame as until 12-18 months ago Stroud
was one of the best outside the PL but since then it’s gone
downhill for some reason he’s had several bad games which
doesn’t help his confidence and doesn’t seem to be the same
referee anymore

I feel that you are being very generous by only saying the past
12-18 months. It has been longer than that. His worst
performances seem to be reserved for the televised matches.
There are still worse referees on the SG2 list.

The likes of Stroud, Simpson (as is happening on Tuesday),
Davies, Woolmer and all just shouldn't be appointed to live
matches - why expose the lack of depth? They should promote the
50% or so of decent SG2 referees as much as possible.
