Congrats to Chris Kendall on his appointment (assuming it is his
first). Liam Moore as reserve referee and Ben Thaler with the
zapper

Reward for a solid season. Reffed the AB Sundecks 1895 final at
Wembley after the Challenge Cup Final in August too. I gather he
is only in his late 20s and been a full time ref for only 4
seasons.
Robert Hicks reffed both the Challenge Cup and Grand Finals last
year and the Challenge Cup Final this year; the latter two
certainly incurred some criticism but he seems to be Gansons
blue eyed boy so a bit surprised to see him not feature.
I still think Ben Thaler is an outstanding ref and has been
treated unfairly in recent years, deserving of more prominent
games in the middle rather than just video official.

I tend to agree, Hendo, but also have a vague sense that Ben
Thaler thinks Ben Thaler is an outstanding referee, which may
not go down too well in some quarters.

Never saw the match sadly but interested to see a plethora of
posts on the BBC site, all in agreement that Kendall had a poor
game, with such comments as nightmare, out of his depth and
awful among them.
Can anyone comment?

Haven't seen the game but heard some of the radio commentary
either side of half time where they were saying what a good
match he was having.
