No surprise for me that the foul on David Silva should've been
       given as a penalty.

Riley specifies 4 errors by VAR but the article states:-
"10 Decisions that should have been overturned"
In the 4 incidents he refers to, the VARs were Atkinson, Pawson,
       Friend and England.
Did he really clarify why the decisions were not overturned -
just missed or not regarded as a clear and obvious error?
2 highly debatable decisions by Tierney at OT were apparently
not considered clear and obvious. Hmmm. (unless they were
included in the apparently 6 others)

It was Marriner rather than England as far as I know - unless
something changed from appointments published, I don't believe
England has been a VAR for a competitive game yet.
It would seem the Newcastle V Watford one was due to Pawson not
watching the replay from the angle that showed the handball. For
the others, a case of uncertainty seemingly about where exactly
the 'clear and obvious' level should be set. I suspect we might
see VAR changing more decisions this weekend as a reaction.

I think it should read “10 should have been overturned and 6
were”. This will reconcile to the 4 that weren’t.

Quite right readingfan, it was Marriner. No idea why I wrote
       England.
Beancounter, I think your interpretation is probably correct.

Wondering if VAR will do anything this weekend? Nope.

Well the attention is on it. Matip hauled to the ground at
       Anfield? Play on.
It really is time to bin this.
