Not in my view up to your usual standard nemisis. Rather
superficial and doesn't really stand up to scrutiny.
It would appear to imply that a game that attracts a crowd of
50,000, plus TV coverage and raises funds for homeless folk in
Manchester is of little interest. Either that or that it
doesn't matter who referees such a game. In either case it begs
the wider question who cares about football or how significant
are referees which I doubt was your intent.
To me it also fails in a literary sense. The most likely word
in the sentence to be misspelled for care is "are". In this
the sentence becomes "Does anyone know who the refereeing team
care for the Vincent kompany testimonial?" which is clumsy at
best. On the other hand the most sensible work to exchange with
care would be "know". In this case the sentence becomes "Does
anyone care who the refereeing team are for the Vincent kompany
testimonial?" It seems somewhat strange to think that the word
know would be a misspelling of care.
In the event it was Mark Halsey who refereed one of the more
dramatic and significant games in City's history when they beat
Gillingham in a play off final. So there is a degree of
sentiment in the appointment.

I think you misspelled nemesis.
By the way, it was a throwaway comment not intended for detailed
analysis and over-thinking. No, it doesn't matter in the
slightest who referees such a match, albeit a match for a decent
cause. Kompany himself probably has more reason than most to be
grateful to referees in recent years.
