What a welcome to the forum...!
I thought it was a poor decision. Thatcham's manager was very
vocal about it in the non-league paper too.

Yes indeed, welcome to the forum!
I think some substance was needed in support of your view, for
example the referee was Adam Baker. I've had a look at the
incident on YouTube, 1.57:00 to save contributors having to wade
through 2 hours of material. In my view, Adam was right to
disallow a late Thatcham equaliser. The Thatcham player seemed
to make a beeline for the Salisbury goalie at the taking of a
last minute corner and was never going to allow the goalie to
get the ball fairly. However I've seen them given, for example
SG2 Robert Jones allowed a Blackburn winner at Hull in v similar
circumstances a couple of weeks ago. Damned if you do and damned
if you don't in my view! Thatcham were apparently already
aggrieved at an earlier penalty shout which was turned down by
Baker. If it was the incident I saw on YouTube, it did seem to
be a coming together of players in the penalty area rather than
a foul but again I've seen them given. So it is Salisbury who
move on to the next round of the FA Cup and I was interested to
note that their manager / coach is one Steve Claridge. Now
there's a name from the past!

Not quite a welcome - your first post, in April about Matthew
Russell, actually earned two "Agree" ratings, mine being one of
them.
That said, I think the reaction to this post was overdone - the
initial reply reasonable, subsequent comments less so - though
as AT suggests a little more detail would have helped.
