For the 2nd week running Vad failed to protect a member of his
team. [emoji35] Dreadful from him. He missed a blatant handball
from Felcsút in their goal to make it 2-2 & they went on to win
3-2. 7.9 from him if he's lucky to even mark that high.
Not such a good afternoon for Karakó either. Goal for Fradi
disallowed at 0-0 for offside - very poor call from Bornemissza
Norbert. No problem with the pen he called. Double yellow red
for Király, gk for Hali. Cracking goal by Fradi from 35-40
yards out. 2 players in offside positions but not offside,
neither interfering with a defender or the keeper & Király went
mad about the goal - ran up the pitch shouting and pointing out
the "offsides" He was wrong to do so but it only showed Karakó
giving 1 yellow he then follows Király up the pitch (who was
back in the goal area) 30 seconds or so later & gives him a red,
he'd not had any other yellow so either the red was wrong or his
technique in showing the 1st yellow was wrong! It certainly
wasn't a red card offence, although I concede I do not know what
was said but I can't understand the yellow then red - incident
here if anyone wants to explain:

Vad also missed a foul on the keeper for Felcsút's 1st goal. So
2 goals given to them that shouldn't have been! Dreadful.
As for Király, he says this: "I told him two players were
offside, he asked me to leave. I replied I can go away but those
two were still offside, ask your assistant. He showed me a
yellow card which I replied with saying again, he can penalize
me, but it still doesn't change the fact that it was offside. He
told me again to leave and I told him again it was offside and
he showed me a red card." Now if that is all that Király said &
he looks fairly calm on the video, then I still fail to see how
this was 2 yellows and a red. Király is wrong on the point of
Law and needs to learn the difference between a player in an
offside position and a player who is offside however I still
fail to see how that turned into 2 yellows and a red. After his
initial telling the ref, he does walk away and calmly and was
heading back to the goal area. The ref follows him and gives the
red (didn't see him give a 2nd yellow). Should never have been
more than a single yellow for dissent imo.

No, they have been quite good this season & black is the new
yellow! Farkas, Iványi & Vad keep wearing yellow but the rest
have been mostly in black! Last week when Iványi had Lilák one
of his team told him he was banned from wearing yellow when on
their match so please don't do it as he gets so much earache
about it & they wore black! Viktor has only worn yellow once &
that was the Man City game - lesson learned I feel! I think the
nincs sárga message is finally hitting home!

       ---------------------------------------------------------
3 absolutely massive games in the NB1 this weekend!
Lilák v Loki is 3rd v 4th & the winner of the game is the most
likely to take the 3rd league European qualifying spot. Loki
were unceremoniously dumped out of the Magyar Kupa in midweek by
2nd placed Vidi so the scramble to secure 3rd spot is now a must
for both them & Lilák. Hajrá Lilák!!! Berke a great choice for
the game. He's young, keen, very eager to get every decision
right and impress those in UEFA towers. He has a lovely manner
out on the pitch, very strict in terms of following the LOTG to
the letter but is still a relaxed & calm young man with a big
smile & works hard to build up a great rapport with the players.
I've raved about him for 3-4 seasons now - he is my tip to take
over Kassai's elite spot when he retires. He reminds me of a
young Kassai in all of the good ways.
Kisvarda v Hali is the other hugely massive game of the week. If
Kisvarda win they probably cement their place in the NB1 for
next season but will 100% end Hali's time there, a defeat will
see Hali relegated. Tom, one of our Magyar Foci lads described
Hali perfectly this week, saying they are the Sunderland of
Magyar Foci. Always in and around the relegation zone but always
just scraping by with enough to stay up. This season though they
look doomed, 7 points between them & 10th spot with 4 games to
go. 6 weeks ago though they were at least 12/14 points adrift
but a good run has given them the tiniest of lifelines. They
have huge financial issues going on & relegation could honestly
see them go bust. At the very least they will quietly fade away
for a few seasons. Erdős has been one of the most improved
referees over the past year - 18 months, he has finally settled
down a bit, relaxed & morphed into a safe pair of hands. He's
lost the inconsistency that dogged him, his positioning has
improved 100% & along with it his decision making. He's no
longer making silly decisions because he is out of position &
it's been great to see. Hopefully the improved Erdős will
be on display today because this game will need him to be a calm
and level head. I will add Erdős is also still the top
runner for decision of the season at this stage of the season,
after one of the best advantages you will ever see played right
back on Match day 3 I think it was!
The other massive game is Kispest v Fradi. Fradi are 11 points
clear at the top & a win today will secure their 30th
championship. They deserve it, they are by far the best team in
Hungary in terms of ability. Kispest are still just about in
with a shout of finishing 3rd if Loki & Lilák both have a bad
run in the last 4 games but it is unlikely. Kispest will play
Vidi in the Magyar Kupa final & a defeat today will all but
leave a cup win as their only route to Europe this season. They
are highly unlikely, imo, to win the cup against a strong Vidi
team. They barely scraped through into the final. 2-1 & 3-0 wins
over NB2 team Soroksar are very flattering scorelines & don't
tell the story of what went on out on the pitch. If you didn't
know which team was which then I doubt you would have guessed
correctly as to which team is 5th in the NB1 & which is in the
bottom half of the NB2 - yes it really was that bad! If as
expected Vidi win the cup then 4th spot will take the final Euro
qualifying place - 2 out of Lilák, Loki & Kispest will be off to
Europe one way or the other! Iványi is a great choice for the
game if he continues his current form. He has put in 2
masterclass performances in the last 2 match days. An old wise
head, his man management is superb & his use of advantages is
       sublime.
The flashpoint game of the week is Vidi v Felcsút. This is in no
way a derby but is played as one. It is always a grudge match
with neither team having any intent to kick a ball, they hate
each other... Felcsút are meant to be the academy team of Vidi
despite having no academy players & their being a pet project of
the prime minister, whose kitchen overlooks the ground, has seen
them become the MK Dons of Magyar Foci. They have no fans,
everyone (bar the PM) hates them but Vidi have a special level
of hate their way. The 1st meeting between these teams this
season led to very unseemly scenes in the tech area at final
whistle with both benches, all players from both teams involved
in a prolonged spell of handbags that saw the then Felcsút
manager get pushed over, an AAR get pushed twice, the 4th
official pushed all over & just chaos. It was that bad that the
President of the Federation stepped in to order a 2nd wave of
disciplinary action over it. Last time out Viktor was referee &
managed to keep a lid on it. He stopped it boiling over on & off
the pitch so it is no surprise he was handed this one again. I
fully anticipate his awesome death stare being his default game
       face today! Hajrá játékvezetői csapat!
The other 2 games are important, nothing is decided in the
league yet (Fradi winning the title & Vidi finishing 2nd are
almost a given granted but...). Anyone from 6th - 12 can be the
2 teams to go down & all are in dreadful form! As last season,
nothing will be decided until the 97th min on match day 33!

       Plenty of yellow on display?!
       [/quote]
180 games so far this season. In 105 games the refs have worn
       black, 30 games - yellow, 25 games - red and 20 games - blue!
Viktor has an impressive 17 black shirts & 1 blue shirt in his
       18 games.
       Just for completeness the bad boys are: 6 - Andó-Szabó; 4 -
       Iványi, Vad & Pintér; 3 - Farkas, Bogár & Solymosi [emoji24]; 2
       - Bognár & 1 - Szöts.
