Where does Hungary sit with VAR? Is it planned to come into
force any time soon over there?

We don't even have 4th officials on our 3rd division games! Can
you imagine a club official doing 4O duties in League 1!!! We
are still in an era of between 2 & 6 TV cameras at a top flight
game, forget slow mo & zooming in! Last 2-3 seasons they have
been less shaky & we occasionally get a view from somewhere
other than near the tech area! The government has put a lot of
funding into new grounds in the NB1 and we do have some lovely
grounds appearing. Some though, like Balmaz who made a singular
season appearance last season play in a ground akin to a
conference level ground in the UK and that is being kind!
It would take a huge investment to put in the level and number
of TV gantries that would be required, the internet feeds needed
to convey the images to where ever the remote site would be etc.
I think we are probably light years away from something so
technically advanced, we simply don't have the infrastructure in
place. M4, our sports channel are ace! They could have their own
what happens next show on their own bloopers. When you compare
to ITV/BBC/Sky they are like the uni students homework project.
I love them! The facilities may well be put into the new
national stadium being built currently for CL/EL/National games
but beyond that, I can't see it. We don't even have GLT yet!
We introduced AAR's very early on, I think we may well have been
one of the testing them out Nations & I have to say, they work
very well in our domestic top league. They are very actively
involved in games, more than those you see in Europe (except
when they are ours!) Lots of communication, they have their own
unique signalling system & it just works at this level of the
game.
Kassai is our only male referee who is actually trained in the
use of VAR. Clatts has been active in that with giving him
regular games in the Saudi League for practice/experience. 5/6
so far this season, he normally gets 1 game there over the
winter break for fitness. Katalin Kulcsár has just done the VAR
training in Doha, with the female FIFA refs ahead of the Women's
WC in June. She will be given some experience games somewhere
between now & that starting. No chance of her being used in the
NB1, nothing to do with her ability & talent... If you think
dinosaurs are extinct take a look at our Federation and you'll
find they are alive & well!
Dr Csányi has done a lot for our league but he needs to stop
using it just as a platform to get himself onto the coveted
UEFA/FIFA committee positions he now enjoys and start to really
modernise it. Installing a ref committee not stuck in the 1800's
would be a great start but that's a whole other rant!!!

No #SolymosiWatch debunks that theory Edy!! That and Németh on
Kispest game - dear oh dear!!! Our defence were so disgusted by
that they failed to turn up for the game!
In Liláks game, Lita took a nasty kick to the back of the head.
Accidental, as players got caught up & went over the Felcsút lad
ended up kicking Lita as he fell - it was the way they went down
that caused it, the kid landed on his knee & as his leg jerked
from that his boot caught Lita. Anyway, Lita landed on his back
& Bognár had whipped him over into the recovery position within
a second of him hitting the floor. He was so quick to react, it
looked dreadful at first. Scary watching it having seen that
but the medics from both teams were straight on, I don't think
they even waited for Bognár to signal them on! Lita got up after
a few mins & carried on the game. He's a tough cookie! Bognár
deserves a lot of praise though for the speed and common sense
reaction and just how superbly he dealt with what could have
been much worse.

We lose Mr Kassai from the NB1 this weekend due to his Thursday
night appointment in the Europa League. He was automatically
ruled out of the NB1 due to UEFA's no less than 48 hours between
matches rule so he will be in the NB2 this weekend.

Yeah, I am not happy!!! The newly promoted kid gets the big
game of the weekend, that should be interesting. It's only his
5th NB1 game maybe 6th! He looks to be a very good young ref
though, I think he is only 26. Looks very promising.

Mr Solymosi is on the naughty step - he wore yellow! Say no more
on him this week!!
As for Vad - dreadful from him, incident in his game where
Theodoros Georgiou was confronted very aggressively by 2 Paks
players. He had to keep backing away until he was pinned right
up against the advertising boards. Vad saw what was going on &
instead of protecting his AR as any decent referee would do, he
turned his back and ran away...[emoji35] Both players should
have been in the book & Vad should be hanging his head in shame.
Andó-Szabó was absolutely fine in the lilák game. Sadly he was
unable to prevent a 5 min spell of total capitulation by our
defence that saw us go from 2-0 up to 3-2 down! I'll let him off
as it's not his job!!! I am however blaming Mr Solymosi's yellow
shirt - female logic in play there so don't even bother to
question it!
Karakó & Bogár - steady performances in their games.
Pintér has had a so so season, he's an average ref, mainly a
safe pair of hands but nothing special so I was surprised he was
given the big game of the weekend. He's having a great game in
the Budapest derby though, very solid performance from him.
