Yes.
You could see the difference between a full time team and a non
league( semi pro) side. There were no scholars, or YTS kids
playing for Charlton. Much quicker, fitter, stronger, skillful.
The Chapmans, along with two or three others were missing.
Friendlies are just a glorified training session really, just
to get match fit for the season, so , to me the result doesn't
matter. As you say, a good turnout that puts some dosh into the
clubs' bank balance. The bus has been relegated to the car park!
