relegation and promotion

Dave was showing us on Thursday (from the football paper), that
to get promotion and relegation a team bottom in a league will
play a one off game against a top team from a lower division. ie
Chatham win their league they could play the bottom team from
our division

We're gonna end up bottom and have a "Play Off " game? ;D
I thought that the TOP team from the league below,providing it's
got all the facilities, automatically gets promoted. I've read
elsewhere,that it's the team that comes 2nd in ,say the SCEFL
would play the "one off "game.

I think teams that win the league below would be rather p*ssed
off,that after all the hard work they had put in a season,were
to lose to a bottom team(from the league above),who quite
frankly don't deserve to remain in that league! >:(
In theory,they could be bottom for ages,win the "one off game"
and never get relegated!
Hardly seems fair!
