       Elves

Here is a short introduction to Elves. It should be noted that
the negative / demonic connotations of the Elf is highly
exaggerated and is a product of late folklore that was tampered
by Christian influences. At one time the Elf originated with
giving forth an honourary title to a recently deceased ancestor
(Geirst-Alf) in which their hyge is made bright and wings its
way to the Ljosselalfheim. Both "Elf Knights" and "Elf Maidens"
are identified in Folklore therefore Light Elves can come in
either sex. They are of exceptional beauty due to the fact that
they attained inner beauty in life thus were able to be given
the honourary title Elf. Those who descend from this kind of
noble dead is known as a Half Elf, for example Skuld and Ivvand
Kinriffi are two examples of Half Elves in Nordic Literature.
The Gothic Church discontinued naming folk Elves as this was a
pagan practice and named the honourable dead "Elders" instead.
It was typical to give forth gifts of butter, milk, and cheese
to the Elves. In the Ayurvedic Tradition it is said that these
substances increase ones intelligence. During Yule Tide many
folks come into contact with Elves and there is brightening of
the mind followed by wise rede entering the soul. In Brother's
Grimm's there is a tale where a flute is being played and an elf
appears with each note. King Alfred (Elf Wisdom) of Old England
is often associated with playing the six string harp or "English
Lyre". The Visogothic King Alfredo of Spain was a noted musician
and crafted the masterpiece "Santa Maria".
Notes, words, numbers, and all manner of abstraction can light
up the mind and raise it up into the shining realms of the wise
dead, the Light Elves, whose words and ways are as rays of light
that banish foolish ways. So it is said that the Rays of the
Sun, known as Elf Beams, is also the Doom of Dvalin, that is,
That Which Fates Delusion. Such beings when seen by the eye that
is opened to the hidden realms are often seen as shining ghosts.
Their descendent, the Half Elves, are of tremendous beauty.
There is also a symbol known as an Elf Cross, which in late
folklore, was made of silver and placed on a Church Alter for
Nine Nights (in days of Yore this would of been in a Hoaf
[Heathen Temple] and on a Harrow [Heathen Alter] in which it
took on properties that could block out evil spirits). It takes
two forms, the first one is that of a hail-cross +, the other
being a pentacle. The hail cross is sometimes known as The Sun
Cross creates a sense of balance and empowerment, thus leading
to Holy (or healthy / whole) states of Being. The Pentacle with
its fifth point is upwardly raised, thus it aligns with the
"upper realm" that is inhabited by the Light Elves. There
powers, being far from being cruel, mean, or daemonic are most
       protective against evil.
