Breaking Update: More On MVP's Release
       By: wwerox1 Date: December 2, 2010, 6:30 pm

As we reported earlier, the WWE announced today that they have
released Hassan Hamin Assad, a.k.a. Montel Vontavious Porter
       (MVP):
MVP noted on his Twitter that he was not fired, and he had
       requested for his release.
"No need for alarm," he wrote. "I did not get fired . I asked
for & received my release. I felt it was time to go
       international & freshen things up.
"They're not screwing me this time. They're actually DOING RIGHT
by me ! They've honored MY request."
Since that update, MVP posted the following: "We all have many
dreams. Realizing one sometimes prevents you from realizing
another. Decisions must be pondered & made ! Stand by ..."

You know, the lack of push MVP has received has always been a
source of frustration for me. I know it's easy to question
whether a WWE castoff will end up in TNA, but I definitely hope
to see him make the jump. MVP has spoken about his desire to
have a match with Masa Chono in Japan, so perhaps that's
something that will happen. It's also possible that he's playing
this wisely and using Japan as potential leverage for
negotiations with TNA. But anyways, it's just a shame that WWE
didn't do more with his great heel gimmick.

Yeah, I agree, Phil. He may actually be one of the few that TNA
makes more credible (like Burke, or Morgan), but then again,
Wrestling in Japan holds many future opportunities for him.
