Loot Sharing Tracking
DIR By: Iyon
Date: August 12, 2013, 10:02 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
I've been asked a few times to post some info regarding loot
sharing and how i run it.
Loot sharing, the concept:
- Party decides in advance to split some portion of a run's loot
- Someone in the party volunteers to sell all the shared loot
and distribute the returns to the party
Upsides:
- Everyone gets loot in each run
- Don't have to run 5 runs in a row
- Less paperwork for those not selling
- Limits undercutting and competition on the marketplace -->
higher sales value
Downsides:
- Requires a seller keeping track
- Requires guildies being in debt to others -- some degree of
uncertainty and trust
- Seems confusing at first
- Double-taxed on the AH if party members choose to receive loot
share in AD
Ways to share loot:
- AH -- Sellers purchases an altar from party members. Price =
the amount owed the party member. Party members have double
tax.
- Wards -- Sellers send party members an amount of preservation
wards equal to the amount of AD owed. Not double-taxed.
- Keys & Wards -- Sellers send party members an amount of keys
and preservation wards equal to the amount of AD owed. Not
double-taxed.
- AH2.0 -- Sellers buy an item that the party member requests
from the AH (<= debt owed). Avoids double tax.
Additional Info:
- No one needs in a shared loot run, even if your character is
going to equip the item (unless agreed upon in advance)
- Seller should be patient -- some items sell for higher values
during weekdays. Rest of party must be patient as well.
- Seller: Don't undercut guildies (see Pact)
- Seller: Only undercut non-guildies by a little (otherwise can
crash market). *UPDATE* Consider going w/ 2nd or 3rd lowest,
esp if lowest is a significant undercut from 2nd lowest
- Seller: If a party member wants return before items sell,
consider a posting fee protection charge of 0.83% (1/3 of 2.5%)
- For CN, parties I am in generally share all purples and
nothing else
The link below is the quick&dirty tracking system I've been
using for the past few days.
I've provided it for
- Future sellers' use
- Those I owe -- now you have access to live-time info on what I
owe you and what has sold :)
Sellers Shared Loot Tracking file: send me a message here, in
game, or in vent and I'll send you a copy of the file.
How much I owe you (page 3):

I'll probably add some stuff to this post later.

For anyone who does any runs with me, where I end up being the
bank, Josiah has kindly shown me how to use his loot tracker and
sent me a blank copy. I've got it set up starting with today's
runs. Ill be keeping this up to date from now on

I use a tiny blog book pen and calculator. Write down names of
all members and add them as friend if not from guild. Write down
all loot names, after i sell an ancient draco drop and anything
over 30k I pay everyone. Some ancients worth under 30k i take
them into account in final total even if they havent sold yet bc
they will likely sell later on. After those profits are made i
divide total by 5 for each person's share then times it by 1.12
to account for AH comission fee. That's the number i tell
everyone to post altar at

Admin/Leader should be promoting some people to forum mods.

Starting to think we should make a completely new forum. Still
no new admins, and no new stickies. No management power anywhere
