Power: Psychometry
History: Zack grew up in a normal household in the small town of
Gongaga, far, far away from the capital. Apathetic towards both
psychics and the Organization, his family liked to lay low and
keep their ordinary lives, well, ordinary. They went about their
duties as citizens--paying taxes, listening to Dysley's
speeches, etc. Starting at about six years old, however, Zack
began to display psychic tendencies. The simple brushing of an
object would lead to an eruption of images in his head. The same
with high-fives, handshakes, and hugs. He did not tell his
parents about this, and they instead just believed that his
ensuing headaches were some sort of medical problem and they
took him to many doctors, terrifying Zack into believing that he
would soon be discovered for what he really was. So, Zack began
to learn to control his abilities. One day, an infantryman
visited Zack's hometown asking for boys to join the border
patrol/outpost, and Zack volunteered enthusiastically without
realizing that the military would probably not take too kindly
to his abilities. He managed to slip under the radar without
problem, though, and has been keeping his secret from the
military, his friends, and his family ever since.
Personality: Zack is an optimistic, energetic young man. Always
full of energy, he often jumps into situations without thinking,
oblivious to the consequences. He possesses great confidence,
but it's a very humble sort of confidence--Zack would never brag
about anything. He often looks for the best in people,
unfortunately often naively ignoring the worst. Whenever
something too serious pops up, Zack is often quick to turn it
into a joke. He has never met a stranger, and cares deeply for
almost everyone he has met, regardless of their treatment
towards him. He is extremely loyal and will do anything to
protect those that he cares about. Underneath his playful
exterior, however, Zack is much more serious, especially
concerning his predicament as a psychic. This is a side of him
that no one ever sees, and is pretty much only present in his
own mind.
Power Limitations: Zack has mostly learned how to control his
abilities. He must be physically touching things in order to
activate memories. When using his abilities, however, Zack
basically becomes incapacitated. Reading objects requires his
full attention, and so he cannot really do other things at the
same time. If an object/person is old enough or well-traveled
enough, he will often get terrible headaches afterwards due to
memory-overload. Both of these problems have created issues in
the past, such as almost leading to his dismissal from the
military due to blacking out during an operation.
Facts: While doing research on his abilities/psychics in
general, Zack declared himself as having the lamest and most
non-useful psychic power ever.
Zack is actually really good at math, but he'd never let you
know it.
Zack's parents run a small shop in their hometown, and Zack grew
up helping them run it.
Zack was fairly popular during his childhood, but his abilities
caused him to never truly become close with anyone.
