Books

So we've got video games and shows/movies, but what about books?
What are you guys reading/obsessed with? Please don't tell me
I'm the only person here who reads... D:
I just recently finished The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson.
I recommend it if you like fantasy books. It's really freakin'
long (~1200 pages), but totally worth it! And the second book is
supposed to be coming out in November, I think?
I'm also pretty obsessed with Percy Jackson. I don't care about
what people say about it being a HP ripoff--I love it. Next book
comes out in November and ahhhhh

You definitely aren't the only person here who reads-- after
all, how does one get better at writing without any example?
Unfortunately, I am not currently reading anything and I am not
sure many would share my tastes in books since I like things
like Beautiful Darkness and The Last Apprentice. Which... are
typically in the teen and children sections. I don't know, maybe
I'm being overly self conscious about my reading decisions. I
also have a thing for(and everyone is going to roll their eyes
at me now) vampires. Not the sparkly kind though. Hate the
sparkly kind, but that's personal preference. I'm talking more
along the lines of Alex Van Helsing or Interview with the
vampire. Aside from that? Paranormal/fantasy freak, as one would
expect from someone who's already a horror addict in other
categories. I own a couple Stephen King books, along with
various other things. I'm planning to get the second book in the
series to Ruby Red(Sapphire blue)
I also finished the hunger games and sobbed. I sobbed and felt
dead and empty and bleh. I loved it but...yes. I couldn't get
into vampire academy myself, either.
Aside from that, I'm not really obsessed with anything at the
moment. I probably will be shortly since summer means plenty of
time for me to check out as many books as I like.
Can we have a little more information about The Way of Kings?
I'll think about checking it out when I begin my book parade.

I haven't been reading books as much as I used to, but I swear
I've read "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien more times
than I can count. For being a war novel, it's really...
different than what you'd expect. Very interesting writing style
(subtle but blunt? unf).
@Raye
Ermahgerd the Pendragon Adventures were like my favorite books
years ago. I never got to finish the series, but gosh, those
books. I should pick them up again.

I read too! (I had a long ass break because of school and
everything but I started again)
I'm currently reading the Night Angels trilogy by Brent Weeks...
again (I'm into assassin stories okay) and my favorite book
series is prolly 'A Song of Ice and Fire' by GRRM because it's
slowly killing me from the inside with all these feels

@Mizzy Ugh yes. ASoIaF is killing me with feelings as well. My
copies have so many sticky notes in them of just parts that I
liked/were emotionally traumatizing, it's ridiculous. Winds of
Winter, come out now, please.
I really need to make a trip to the library, but currently I'm
trying to reread the Broken Sky series by Chris Wooding. I read
them as a kid and adored them, but for some reason I've never
been able to make it all the way through the series again,
despite trying multiple times. But I only have one book left
now! I shall prevail!
@Aly I LOOKED UP THE WAY OF KINGS AND IT SOUNDS AMAZING. I
should definitely read this! :D

@Raye
My sister got me the Hunger Games boxed set two years ago at
Christmas and I did the same thing!
@Tango
Ahhh! We read part of The Things They Carried in English class
recently and I really loved it!
@Kayla
No shame. I read kids books all the time. xD (like I said, I
love Percy Jackson and that's technically for like 8 year olds.)
Oh goodness, where do I even begin? haha

This
is a basic synopsis of it. It's really hard to explain (That and
I'm just really bad at explaining things in general..), but it
is very good! Brandon Sanderson is one of my favorite authors,
though, so maybe I'm biased...
@Allie
YES, READ IT.

Ugh reading... Reading is good...
Off the bat - Harry Potter is life! Yeah Potter-head and proud.
I'm currently reading Catching Fire and Norwegian Wood by Haruki
Murakami. I've regrettably fallen in love with The Hunger Games
something I hoped I wouldn't do because well I fell in love with
Twilight once and that was just tragic and embarrassing. So I
didn't really want to be caught up in the hype of a book but
well Hunger Games deserves the hype. I highly recommend
Norwegian Wood, I love Murakami's style of writing and he has
such an interesting set of characters that are all flawed and
human it's just perfect.
I think my current favourite books are Private Peaceful, Tales
of the Otori series, Of Mice and Men, Wuthering Heights and A
Room with a View.

I'm really picky when it comes to books. Right now my sister is
making me read The Hobbit, which is pretty good! But some of my
favorites are the Harry Potter series (Yup, another Potterhead
over here!), The Hunger Games, Battle Royale....
I really can't think it's too early for this xD
