In-Game Rules

Security
It's very important that players in-game feel safe. With that
said, please keep the following in mind:
Promoting the use of/referring to the use of illegal drugs,
illegal use of substances for your current age/medical
condition.
Not tolerated. We're not the cops, but we don't want to deal
with little kids motivated to do such things because of what
people say. We don't want that responsibility on our hands,
because it could potentially lead to a lawsuit.
Encouraging/linking others to pornographic content, giving
others the access to inappropriate content.
Once again, we do not want to be responsible for players that
influence others to possibly illegal content with underage
people involved. Not tolerated once again.
Respect
In order to maintain a peaceful, fun atmosphere, we ask that you
abide by the following:
Discrimination of race, gender, nationality, sexual orientation
or religious beliefs/actions.
People cannot help these things, they are not a choice. That
gives them the right to be respected as a human being. There is
no wiggle room on this for "joking/kidding around, part of a
game or inside joke". Absolutely NO wiggle room.
Bullying, condescending, low intended language/actions.
This could lead to the quitting of a player or players, and we
want as many people here as possible to make this a more fun
experience.
Excessively vulgar, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate
language.
This one is tricky. Certain situations are more punishable than
others. For example, if you die and say "Fuck", there isn't any
reason to take action on this person. But, if that person were
to say "Fuck you", then it is considered negatively correlated
at someone and gives off a bad vibe. Since this is mostly
subjective, there is give or take on this one depending on the
thoughts of the staff.
Spamming of un/random letters that flood out the chat box.
This can be incredibly annoying for players to communicate with
each other if this is going on. Please do not do this.
Advertising your server/website that is potentially a competitor
of Project Jagex, or a business-affiliated site.
You will be IP-banned for even mentioning a server anywhere in
Project Jagex, even if you don't give a link. Saying things such
as "Come check out my business! We clean carpets! Check it out
now today,
HTML http://www.example.com
" is also IP-bannable. This is
incredibly annoying, and by our policy you must pay to be
advertised on our site or in our game. Anything that can be
considered a potential competitor of Project Jagex is any type
of RuneScape altered game.
Is it okay if I host a Minecraft server (or something that has
nothing to do with RuneScape) and tell people to join it?
It depends. If you tell a few people "Hey, I have a Minecraft
server. Wanna come play it?" Then that is absolutely acceptable.
But keep in mind that doesn't mean you can come in here spamming
links. Linking a person one time to let them know is okay, but
you can't constantly spam the chat box with links to your site.
Just be responsible about the advertisement of it. As long as
you keep a good balance of playing the game as-well, then it is
fine.
Integrity
In order to maintain a fair gameplay for all players, everyone
must abide by the following:
Macro-ing, using a machine/bot to increase skills/items for any
player's personal gain.
Not accepted. Creates an unfair advantage for players that do
this. This will lead to an automatic, permanent IP-ban.
Buying/selling/sharing accounts, trading items for real life
items/RS items to non-affiliated companies to Prestige
Unlimited.
Once again, if you do this you are getting an unfair advantage
to the game and does not benefit Project Jagex.
Abusing a bug for your own personal gain.
If you knowingly misuse a bug and do not report it, then
violation actions will be taken on your account. Don't think we
won't notice, we have a way of knowing every single action you
do on your own or with other players. Everything is logged.
Using a cheat tool/client for you own personal gain.
This will result in an immediate, permanent IP-ban. You will
never be allowed back.
Impersonating a staff member/other player member.
This is not allowed to impersonate any member because you could
send a false reputation to that person to get him/her in
trouble. Impersonating staff will give you false power that you
may use to your advantage. You will be caught for this, this is
one of the simplest things to solve.
[li]Note: Making an account called "Owner Jake", "Admin Jake",
or "Mod Jake" is considered staff impersonation and is
punishable.[/li]
Scamming one's items or account.
The player's account/items will be returned and you will be
banned. No tolerance.
Offering someone a gift if they break the rules, convincing
someone that the rules aren't really what they are.
If there's any type of encouraging players to break the rules,
you will receive a mute for your actions.
Please follow all of these rules strictly in-game. It's best to
be safe and not risk anything. If it feels un-right, don't do
it. Have fun in-game!
