Dry Town
By: Project Fallout, PAT Date: December 23, 2015, 10:43 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Name: Dry Town
The remnant robot security of an old Nuka Cola bottling plant is
preventing a nearby scavenger settlement from scrapping the
place, and with the other local sources of salvage drying up,
this prompts the Mayor of the town to offer a bounty of caps to
clear the place out.
Once you arrive at the facility you are greeted by the
building's AI, which can potentially mistake you as one who has
been sent from corporate to reopen the facility. From here you
could shut down the factory as the Mayor wishes or humor the AI
system.
You are then tasked by the computer to 'order' the parts for the
restoration of the facility, which can actually be found at the
scavenger town nearby, in the market. Upon trading/manipulating
away the parts from various merchants. A group of the town's
scavengers will realize what you are doing and attempt to banish
and or kill you (depending on your stats/prior actions) to
prevent the plant from becoming operational again.
After returning to the plant you can begin to install the parts,
and, when nearing completion, the facility locks down, due to
the sighting of an armed crowd outside the building.
You are then locked inside the production room and can use
explosives (or an override on the terminal) to escape, breaking
out. The next objective being you needing to get back to the
AI's office. From then on you are presented with two options, to
then shut down the facility, or to convince the AI to order the
security bots to stand down, in exchange for calming the
'impatient customers' outside.
If all goes well, the townsfolk don't get mowed down by the
security bots, the plant reopens, and the humans begin shipping
in Mutfruit, empty bottles, and scrap to the factory, and in
return, get supplied with Nuka Cola. The Mayor pays you in full
and you receive a house in the town, the player even getting a
lifetime supply of delicious Nuka Cola.

Name: The Toll
"Look, we fix up things, machines, people, what's all that
different about a raider's temper?" -Mayor
The player is propositioned by the mayor of the scavenger city
to collect taxes from the various businesses around town, as
payment for heavily fortified raider encampments outside the
settlement.
The player will have to persuade, coerce, and even remind one
old, forgetful merchant, Fade, to pay up. Depending on how such
interactions end, the prices thereafter will be affected
accordingly. As you go along, you can begin to notice the
trading sect's discontent with the current status quo and how
the Mayor deals with raiders, eventually coming across a hidden
room underneath Fade's house, filled with caps that his
self-aware Protectron unit Dusk has collected over the decades,
and caps that merchants have for the past few months, the robot
intending to use the fortune to drive out the raiders and set up
a proper defense.
From here you can keep Dusk's secret and eventually help the
robot and the trader consortium drive off the raiders, or report
back to the Mayor. If you tell him of the consortium, Dusk will
be reset to factory defaults, Fade will be crippled, and two
caravan traders will be killed outside of town.
If you only report back to the Mayor and not tell him about the
Consortium, multiple botched assassinations, shakedowns, and
bloody shootings will occur in and around town, increasing
security and eventually an uprising against the Mayor and the
subsequent slaughter of the raider gangs outside the walls by
the populace themselves, the town shortly thereafter becoming
more of a police state than a republic.
