Peter also believed the day was at hand. What did Peter say
about Jesus' return, and how does his exhortation give more
insight into walking properly? See 1 Peter 4:7-8.

In regard to Jesus' return, Peter exhorts us to "have fervent
love for one another" over ALL things because "love covers a
multitude of sins". I can only assume that those sinning are
indeed us, delivers because try as though we may, we will have
shortcomings and fall outs with each other as we do not always
agree on everything. But instead we are to follow 1 Cor 13:4-7
       and act accordingly:
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does
not parade itself, is not [b]puffed up; 5does not behave rudely,
does not seek its own, is not provoked, [c]thinks no evil; 6does
not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7bears all
things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all
       things.
Peter continues after verses 7-8 to explain and break down
further how we are to respond to each other in love: Be
hospitable without grumbling, using our spiritual gifts to serve
one another, speaking to each other as the oracles of God and
ministering to each other by God's grace.
He continues on and in the next breath talks about going through
fiery trials and partaking in Christ's sufferings. It's good to
remember that some of life's greatest tests and trials come in
the form of relationships with others, eeven brothers and
sisters in Christ. So, we should not be surprised when our faith
is tested and we suffer at the hand of other believers while we
are trying to live out these truths. Bur instead, let Christ be
glorified in our relationships with others, especially when we
are reviled and mistreated, do all as unto Christ and keep a
       clear conscience.
