Orp Preparing for War
By: Mdlogan Date: September 29, 2014, 8:58 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Reason: While the current government of Belsavis is under the
command of the Wardens, Orp Twail has plans to overthrow the
tyrants and to grant freedom to the 'Criminals'.
Setting: Eight Kilometers from the Warden Outpost Deliverance.
OOC: Hopefully I will have a small series of these little
speeches, recruitments, and planning for the eventual coup.
First Appearances and Executions
Orp gazed upon the gathered group of men and women before him.
They hardly seemed more than a ragtag team of militia, but they
would become bastions of freedom and leaders of a new order. It
had been a long time since his last meeting.
As with the current meeting, he had stood before everyone that
had shown up for the event. Orp had planned it all out, he would
begin with a small speech to set the fires of anger alight. He
would bend the anger into a force to move them to turn against
the nearby Warden encampment. He would lead them into battle and
prove how strong these people were. They would capture the
leaders of the encampment and have a public execution. It would
have been amazing for morale, if only it had gone as planned....
He had only begun his speech when the Wardens attacked. They
must have been alerted to the meeting taking place and who was
leading it. They showed no mercy slaughtering quickly. They
could barely resist, defeating one or two. Orp had had to fight
off three in one moment. He told the others to run and hide, for
they were not safe here. He cut down the head of the attack and
was able to escape, but it made Orp more cautious about these
meetings.
The poor people who died that day were still voices in Orp's
head. He would have vengeance. That was his life, it was all for
revenge. His eyes burned with anger unknown to those who stood
before him. He would show them with words what had happened. He
would show them the ruthlessness of the enemy and that there was
no hope for them unless they stood and fought now.
He yelled loudly, to be heard over the howling of the wind.
My Allies, I have called you here to speak to
you of the threat we all face. The threat is controlling the
planet; there is no place to run from it. We must fight it, or
else succumb to the doom that comes with it. We must fight
together, for one by himself will not stand. We have for
centuries been held as 'criminals' in the ice laden lands of
this forsaken planet. The Wardens! Those are the enemies, that
danger, which is always here and always will be here unless we
deal with it now and for eternity. They have decided that they
will hold the planet and its resources for themselves. They have
decided that even though we have been a free planet for many
years, we are still prisoners. They! have decided to make
enemies of what could have been friends. For that alone they
deserve to be punished! But there is more. A village was
massacred on a whim by the Wardens! I survived because I was
ready for it. I don't want us to lose anymore ground to the
Wardens. Before long they will massacre another village. And
another and another! Soon they will drive us extinct; they would
rather slaughter us than share this world! Look around you, at
your families, your friends, your future! Would you want them to
take it all away from you!?
NO!!! Was the resounding reply.

Orp pulled his sword from its sheath. He raised it into the air
yelling at the top of his lungs. Will YOU,
people of strength and honor, fight with me? Will YOU, people of
the Ice, defend your homes and children, and all that you hold
dear on this good earth? Will YOU, men of Stone, women of Iron,
join me and rid this planet of the pestilence that is destroying
everything?
YES!!!! The reply sounded.
Then I say to you: Prepare your weapons!
Remember the Wars of old! Defend your children, and the Future
of Belsavis! Stand now and forever claim this planet as the
birthright of our people! Brothers, Sisters, for that IS what we
are, it is time for war! There is no turning back! Let us show
the Galaxy that though we are Ice, our anger burns like the
stars!!!
With that he let loose a battlecry and the people soon followed.
The sound of it could be heard through the wind and storm. They
felt no cold, for the fire of strength burned within them and
they knew no fear. While the enemy could not hear their cry, the
Wardens yet felt a change in the air. The change of War.

Setting: Eight Kilometers from Outpost Deliverance
First Appearances and Executions
The Final Preparation and First Battle
Orp stood silent, watching as his comrades prepared their
weapons. He now stood in the midst of their camp. They worked as
agitated bees, quickly yet in unison it was an inspiring sight.
They had made weapons of stone and ice, but little else. He felt
such awe in a people who had everything to lose yet they fought
all the same. He hoped their anger would last until they reached
the enemy camp and to the defeat of the Wardens. He looked about
him, the sound of stone and ice crashing into one another as the
people were sharpening blades and practicing. He looked forward
to seeing them in battle. On of the side he hoped that they
would live to see the end of the battle. He felt insecure about
this...this battle. They would be fighting against incredible
odds with little chance of a retreat. Though if needed, they
could retreat into the snow, but that would severely dampen the
people's resolve. There would be no next time for this fight.
They would win or lose that day and only then. If they lost,
then all was lost. But.... if they won, then this world would be
free. That will give the people the hope and strength to finish
the War.
Even as he thought of the victory that he was certain would come
before the year was through, a man walked up to him. The man
began speaking, saying that they were ready and simply awaited
him and his commands.
Orp awoke himself letting loose his voice in loud yell for all
to hear, Friends! Allies! Brothers! Sisters!
The time is upon us! We ride to War! Today! Today we fight and
Today we WIN! Those of you who will follow me will be in danger
till the War is finished, but we will win NO MATTER WHAT!!! Let
those who will stay, take care of the elderly and the children!
There is no dishonor in that! Those who will stay behind,
prepare to make travel to another village! Once we attack, none
shall be safe and tell those you meet that we fight for freedom
and for the future! Now move! Those who follow me leave now! The
rest stay and prepare for your departure!! For Belsavis and its
future!
Thus the small group of men and women disappeared into the snow,
a blizzard beginning to brew as they disappeared from view.

---------------------------------------------------------
Setting: Outpost Deliverance
First Battle and Following Execution
The Battle of Deliverance
Orp turned back to behold his army. It was hardly 3 dozen men
and women armed with ice and stone swords. They wore no armor
and had only their clothing as protection from the harsh
blizzard that had begun. They had seen it begin and now it
appeared to be almost at full strength, there was so much snow
being thrown about that Orp had to lower the visor on his helmet
just to see. He could see far though, thanks to that visor. He
could tell that the people behind him were cold, not even having
to look at them. It was as if he could tell where they were and
how they felt without having to look at them. He shrugged off
that idea, trying to focus on preparing for another speech. The
weather was making his throat sore from all the speaking, but he
had to continue no matter the sacrifice.
He turned once more, looking upon a small plain of snow, in the
middle was a set of houses. They were obviously not of the
'Criminal' make, for they were bulkier, brighter, and stood out
in the snow. The other tell-tale sign was that there were no
people moving about, even in the worst snowstorm there were
always some people moving about. But, here there were none. He
felt his blood boil just from observing their houses. He peered
back at the people following him. They could not see the
outpost, nor would they be able to tell if it were an enemies or
one of their own.
Brothers! Sisters! The enemy is before us!
Their outpost is but a short run from us now! We will strike
fast and hard, destroy everything that show itself to be of
Warden make! Save only the commander and his favored men! They
will be a messenger to the enemy! Harden yourselves! For it will
be a cold battle! We must be ruthless! But do not forget our
goals, let us be ruthless so that our children may be just and
fair! Let us be damned so that our kin may be free and forever
from the torment that we shall endure! Let us be the ones to
burn for evil doing, so that are children should not have to
suffer the same fate! Fight now! Knowing that you together will
change history for the better! You will change the future to
strengthen your children's hope! We fight! Know that a number
will fall, but be glad! For death in this battle will be the
most glorious and honorable death imaginable! You will have died
saving your family and their future! Come now! Let us go forth
and begin this War! Forward!!!
With that his voice filled with rage as he let out a roar, the
roar of battle. The men beneath his quailed in heart, for the
sight cast fear into all. But through that, Orp's words sank
deep and opened the gates to all the men and women's hate. They
charged forth, letting loose a battle cry that was heard in the
small outpost. They ran, the cold no longer being felt, the ice
no longer stinging, and the wind did not bite. The blizzard was
increasing in strength, but the people were not affected by it.
Some wept even as they cried for battle, for they could feel
doom and death coming towards them, but they did not falter.
They ran with speed unthinkable towards the defended outpost.
The inhabitant of the outpost, the Wardens who had been sleeping
there, were awoken by the roar and the battle cry. They were
swiftly on their feet and had their weapons and armor donned.
They quickly stepped into the cold, losing some senses as they
did so. They could not tell immediately where their enemy came
from, for the wind howled all around them and the voices were
thrown into chaotic sounds. They soon, however, recovered from
the initial confusion. They located where the enemy was coming
from and prepared to fire as soon as they could see their
targets. They stood and knelt silent, waiting for the first
sighting and to fire upon their enemies.
Orp was at the head of the charge, though he knew not how he had
ended there, he had been in the middle of the group when they
started. He could see through the snow and wind and saw before
him a group of the Wardens, prepared for battle. They had moved
quicker than he had anticipated. There were about a dozen and a
half in formation with ranged weaponry aimed in their direction.
It was obvious that they did not see Orp and his men yet. He
hoped that the blizzard would cover their approach for a little
while longer. But even as he thought of that, he heard the sound
of thunder. This was going to be a storm of power such that Orp
had never beheld before. He then heard a loud bang followed by
accompanying bangs. He heard a cry, a cry of pain, as the man
next to him fell silently into the snow, disappearing in the
gloom.
With that, the battle was begun. Orp let a cry of pure anger and
rage free from within him. He felt the impact of projectiles on
his armor, like heavy blows knocking against his outer shell. He
felt no pain, he felt nothing. His only true feeling was that of
pure hatred. He burned with it. He slashed with his blade at the
closest enemy, and the man fell. And after that first attack,
his eyes filled with red. He lost all sense of what he was
doing. All he could tell was that other men and women fell
around him, yet he could not tell who he fought. His enemies and
allies all mingled and all the faces of everybody mixed and
became a distorted image in his eyes.
--------------
When next he was conscious, Orp was standing in front of the
group of people. His people had won! And he was speaking to them
telling them what a brilliant job they had done. He could not
hear his words, he just felt them enter his mind and exit his
mouth. He turned and behind him on their knees was a small group
of Wardens. It was the leader and his best men. He looked at
their terror filled faces. He looked at them and smiled. Only
now did they know. He had their lives in his hands. He wondered
what he would do next....

---------------------------------------------------------
Setting: Outpost Deliverance
Execution and Messages
Orp felt the prisoner's fear. He could smell it, and it awoke in
him a sadistic feeling that he had not been aware of till now.
He smiled larger now, yelling to the people behind him,
Look upon these men! They are the ones who
have held this planet against you! We were granted freedom and
THEY decided not to grant it to you! They had no right to make
that decision! They were not the ones who should have been in
command! They did not deserve that! Let them feel what they gave
us! In that moment he looked back at the men who knelt on
the ground, hands bound behind their backs. They looked cold and
obviously would soon die without shelter. He continued,
Let them be taught a lesson not soon
forgotten!
With that Orp grabbed his blade and brought it down on the first
man's neck. There was no resistance to the sharp blade and blood
stained the snow and ice beneath the body, now dead. The men
aside did not seem coherent enough to respond in any matter.
Orp, however, could feel their fear become stronger. They still
could tell what was going on at least. He heard a gasp from the
crowd behind him. He turned, seeing only his people, their faces
with either horror or admiration. I am sorry
for this, but it must be done! For this is what they have done
to us! They deserve it, do they not!?
He continued the process, relieving four bodies of their heads.
The snow melted and refroze to create a red ice beneath the
dead. There were only two left, the Leader and his man. Orp
looked at the Leader saying, Look at you now.
You are nothing but a cowering fool. You are not worthy of this
planet. Yet, I have a use for you. Return to your masters and
tell them of what has happened. Inform them of the
insurrection. With that he sliced the last man and
watched as the Leader, whose bonds were not secure, broke free
and fled with what strength he found in his bones.
Orp was quiet, knowing that the people may or may not approve of
his methods, but he knew what he was doing. He knew also that
they would follow him for now, as long as he continued to lead
them to success.
OOC: For those who are reading this(probably one of two people
at best), I would like to hear any sort of comments you have
about the writing so far.
