       The Battle of Alderaan 2.0

OOC: Sorry for messing everyone around, but since things have
gotten nowhere so far, Mobius and I are just going to do the
battle between the two of us, all in one go. I'm sorry if this
makes anyone feel excluded, but this just feels like the only
option at this stage, since nobody seems to be on regularly
enough, and Mobius and I happen to have coinciding spare time at
       this moment.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
       (I'm eebul now)
Since Plun fled to Alderaan, the majority of the Balmorran space
fleet has been dispatched to the Alderaanian system. Near the
outskirts of the system the Battle Transport Unconquerable, as
well as the four Venerate-class cruisers Unter, Illmarien,
Helfors, and Razugriz have been waiting. Balmorra said that the
fleet was sent there to demand the custody of the traitor Plun,
but the true motive was planetary domination.
At the deck of the Unconquerable, Admiral Rantok looked at
Alderaan through a projection in front of him, and he couldn't
help but have a evil grin. The planet was lovely, and it was
great to think it would soon be under the command of Helfors.
The time to strike will be on us soon, he thought. All they were
waiting for was for the final Venerate, the Lyonell, to warp in
from Coruscant, where it layed waste to the Interplanetary
       Embassy.
"Admiral Rantok sir," said a lieutenant operating one of the
many controls in the Unconquerable's bridge, "The Lyonell is
less than an AU away now."
       "Excellent."
It doesn't take long for the Lyonell to exit hyperdrive nearby
the fleet. It's clear that the Lyonell didn't escape from
Coruscant without a scratch -- there's multiple marks of laser
damage around the ship and one of the four turbolasers is
       completely missing.
"This is the Lyonell, reporting in. The damned Coruscantis
didn't go down without a fight, but we're still able to serve."
"Get your ship in position, Captain. We will be assaulting
       soon."
The Lyonell joins the other four Venerates in a delta formation
around the Unconquerable, and the fleet fires its suborbital
engines, and advances toward Alderaan's orbit. It will arrive in
       thirty minutes.

"Sir, the Balmorrans have engaged engines and are approaching
       the planet. ETA 10 minutes."
Admiral Staaron nodded. As one of the most senior starship
pilots around, he had been assigned command of the new fleet.
He'd hoped that he wouldn't have to use it so soon--especially
not under these circumstances. If he failed, those mechanical
monsters would reach the beautiful planet and enslave its
       people.
"So it's war then." he said. The officer did not reply.
"Move the fleet forward, tell all ships to hold formation.
They've clearly made their move now--we are going to defend this
planet. Prepare to attack the battle transport."

It doesn't take long for Alderaan to be in sight, and the
Balmorran fleet stays parked in an Alderaanian high orbit.
Rantok turns on a holocom and sets it to broadcast to the
       Alderaanian fleet.
"Attention Alderaanian star fleet, we are here to arrest the
traitor Plun. This is your first and final offer. Surrender now
and no harm will be brought upon you. If you do not heed our
warning, we will destroy you without mercy. We will crush your
weak armed forces on the ground and enslave your people."
In the droid accommodations inside the Unconquerable, the 2,000
battle droids on station are exiting hibernation mode. IN a
matter of minutes they'll be ready to enter one of the numerous
transports which will take them to a pre-designated landing zone
on Alderaan, one which is only 50 miles from the capital city.

"Balmorran Star Fleet vessels, this is Admiral Vikus, commander
of the Alderaanian Star Fleet. You seem to be labouring under
the illusion that your ships are going to reach the planet." he
ended there. He knew better than to offer them a "last chance--"
would only serve to make them seem weaker--if they wanted to
retreat, they would do so without his invivtation. Instead, he
turned very calmly to his comm officer.
"Keep the fleet moving, and notify me of any enemy activity."
