Meanwhile, the delegates continue to rush for the exit. Most if
the building is on fire and collapsing around them. Another
squad of Coruscantian soldiers meets up with the diplomats, and
instead of to a fire exit, escorts them to a military landing
pad. They turn around and flee through a secret door and down a
hallway, and see a landing pad with a Valkyrie armed troop
transport. The transport's doors open for the diplomats to jump
into. Once everyone is inside, the Valkyrie lifts off and flies
to Fort Valais, which is a hundred miles away. As they leave the
embassy, they see a Turbolaser shot come down and strike the
same pad they were just at.

As the fighters destroyed the turbolaser, the one firing on the
embassy, the turrets began aiming for the fighter that was
apparently leading them (Espada 1). The ships had left the
atmosphere and the pilots began entering the coordinates to
rejoin the rest of the fleet, which was closing in on Alderaan.
The turbolasers continued firing on the fighters, however they
began trying to strategically separate the fighters to destroy
them individually.
The one destroyed turbolaser was now falling to the planet as
its joint had been weakened. There was only a small chance that
anything could stop its collision with the buildings beneath.

"Oh dear," Espada One does a barrel roll at the sight of
incoming rounds. "The laser is destroyed! All planes report in."
"This is Seven, Ten and Five are destroyed and depressurized.
They're try- Ah! My right engine is fried!"
"This is One, fall back to quadrant B7R and regroup! We can't do
anymore here."
He accidentally contradicts himself when a new transmission
starts from his holocom. "Espadas One through Ten, this is
Eleven. I brought some company!" Fifteen more Wyverns have
scrambled into orbit, and with them, the Tau-class frigate CNS
Urata.
The Urata locks onto the Balmorran cruiser, and its two
turbolasers begin firing. Espadas 11-25 speed by the frigate as
they get into three strafing formations of five planes each. The
remaining Espada planes use the confusion to regroup and get
into an attack run from the other side.

The Venerate cruisers fires a few more rounds, trying to just do
any damage, before running. They shoot three times at the
planets surface then activate the hyperdrive. The ship was in
horrible condition, it had lost a turbolaser and the turrets
were barely in working condition. The engine was almost ruined,
but still working enough to get them to the main fleet. The
commander had been hit by a stray blast from a the turbolasers,
he wasn't in serious condition, but enough to make him incapable
of leading the ship for the moment.
