The holo operators at the Embassy had been working round the
clock. As soon as they had received the transmission from
Coruscant, they had worked to get a return signal. Now they were
ready.
"Ambassador Vesh, ready when you are."
Vesh nodded, and the holo began transmitting.
"This is Ambassador Thana Vesh of the Planet Alderaan. Come in,
Coruscant."

With the hypothesized "failure" of succeeding to provide contact
with the three planets of Alderaan, Naboo, and Dantooine, the
communications of the main holocom has been triangulated to
Balmorra only. Three more were placed down the hall in different
rooms, each one with another planet targeted.
The diplomat in charge of the one tracking Alderaan notices a
message coming through. He modifies it a little so it's
perfectly clear, then runs to get the president in another room.
A minute later, he sits down in front of the holocom.
"Greetings Ambassador Vesh of Alderaan, I am President Vincent
Yutin, speaking for the planet of Coruscant."

A great cheer went up in the room. Their Second First Contact.
"President Yutin, I think I can safely say that we are all very
happy to hear your voice. This is a momentous occasion.
Greetings from Alderaan!"

technologies."

(I'm going to assume the first contacts with Coruscant, for both
channels, are over now.)
"Hello Mr. Elos! I'm going to notify someone of higher authority
or your trade idea, I apologize for the wait. Please hold."
Two minutes later...
"Greetings, Defense Minister Elos. I'm Keith Olsen, Secretary of
Defense of Coruscant. I'm very eager to hear your trade
agreement proposal."

Olsen ponders that for a moment. "That is a good offer, but I
have a counteroffer. We will give you our blaster blueprints, if
you give us your starship armor technology, instead of ten
credits."
