Alderaanian Diplomatic Summit

The king sat at the head of the long table, dressed in his
finest attire. Around him sat several important members of the
Interstellar embassy. Servants came to and fro, frantically
finishing the layout of the banquet that sat on the table. They
sat in a long hall atop Mount Arathor, the traditional meeting
place of the houses. The Balmorran delegates were due to arrive
any minute.

The small delegation from Balmorra arrived. There were a total
of twelve people, six guards armed with swords, four diplomatic
service members (including the one from the holo), two personal
guards for the Triumvirate, and Plun one of the leaders within
the Triumvirate. The six guards took position near the entrance,
while Plun stepped towards the far end of the room and his
guards stayed 2 meters behind him. The diplomatic service stood
while their leader addressed the assembly. Plun gave a bow to
the King before waiting for him to address them.

"Greetings, and welcome to the Balmorran delegation! This is
indeed a momentous occasion--the first interplanetary state
meeting in the history of either of our planets! We hope that
you enjoy your time here, and that both our planets may prosper
as a result of your coming. Once again, we thankyou for making
this journey. Let the summit begin!"

Plun replied, "I also hope that both our planets shall prosper
from this union. We apologize, but we do not know the customs of
a Summit on Alderaan. We shall do as everyone else as close as
we can." All the Balmorrans, except the guards, moved to seats.
Plun stayed where he was, while everyone prepared for the
Summit.

"Please, Mr. Plun, take a seat. The banquet seems to be ready.
It is our custom that the participants of the meeting may enjoy
the refreshements while it is in session--feel free to honour
it. Try the wine--visitors always seem to like it."

Plun took a seat near the end half of the table, along with most
of the other Balmorrans. Plun lifted a glass saying, "To the
long friendship of our two planets. May we always stand as
allies against joint enemies." He then was about to take a drink
when one of his guards nudged Plun's seat, however Plun simply
shot a warning glance at the guards before sipping the wine,
tasting it for all its beauty. Once Plun had taken his drink,
the other attendants within the Balmorran assembly drank and ate
in a very careful manner, not wanting to insult any possible
customs of their new friends.

"Oh, don't worry." said the king, noticing the guard's gesture.
He then proceeded to pour himself a glass and take a large gulp.
"Well, let's get started. Ambassador Vesh?"
"Thankyou, sire. Delegates of Balmorra, it is the belief of the
embassy that we should begin taking steps to bring our planets
closer together, and, perhaps more importantly, work out a deal
that will be beneficial to both planets. By this, I mean opening
a trade route between our two planets. There are clearly things
that both Alderaan and Balmorra produce that could be beneficial
to the other, and the Parliament has agreed that Alderaan is
open to both the exportation and importation of goods at the
embassy's discretion."

"There was a similar agreement within the our Senate in the
previous meeting. However that is for our Diplomatic leader, Sir
Narken, to speak more in full of. Narken." He sat, allowing
Narken (The man from the holo conference) to stand and begin
speaking.
Narken began with a bow towards the King then started, "I would
like to begin by saying that it is truly our honor to be here at
this first Summit between Alderaan and Balmorra. As our leader
Plun has duly stated, our Senate has decided to begin, as soon
as possible, trade between our two illustrious planets. They
also brought up a point in which they require the King and his
Parliament's decision. They would like to open Balmorra to your
people to settle to create a stronger bond between our planets."
Narken stopped to allow the people to think on his statements.

"Open borders?" said the king. "That is indeed an interesting
prospect, and I am extremely honoured that you are prepared to
take such a step. I will bring the matter to the attention of
the Parliament at my earliest opportunity--in the meantime it is
something that we can most certainly discuss. Now, as for the
matter of trade, we believe that it would be more convenient for
both parties to set up a joint venture for the construction and
operation of the route. If the fleet is jointly operated, then
ships may make two-way runs, doubling efficiency. What are your
thoughts?"

"That would be the most efficient path possible. This was
brought up in a Senate, however they did not go too in-depth
into the subject. They did decide that a route would be
constructed with support from Alderaan, if so desired. Ships
needed for such construction are our first priority, and the
first one should be finished relatively soon. There was another
point which the Senate wished to here your opinion. They have
discussed heavily on the Killiks and their part in your society.
We have heard of them but do not know much of their exploits
with your people. If you wouldn't mind enlightening us."
