Balmorra

as news updates. Please be aware that news updates may take up

Triumvirate, Senate approved.[/s] Helfors has removed these
grants.
[center]Galactic Positioning Unit:[/center]
For those who may have missed the briefing upon arrival, the
planet Balmorra is located in the Coreworlds. Balmorra is near
Alderaan, but is quite different in many ways. Your current
location is in the newly constructed spaceport. (See History
section below for information on this spaceport and many other
interesting of Balmorra's heritage.)
[center]Government information brochure:[/center]
[s]The people of Balmorra are proud to say they have adopted a
more democratic styled government. In the last century there
have been major upheavals within this branch of Balmorra. But
fear not Balmorra is quite stable and will likely stay so for
another 50 years. The Senate, which consists of every person on
the planet, votes on what and what must not be done. These
votes, colloquially called moots, are overseen by the
Triumvirate. The Triumvirate is a three man, in this case two
man one woman, 'power base' in which they have the power to
control the armies, levy taxes, and pronounce laws. However the
Triumvirate is not a full leadership, they simply give
suggestions and help guide the Senate, the three people in the
Triumvirate are leaders and war heroes of the last civil war,
they helped overthrow the previous government and put this one
into place.[/s]
The current government is made up of a single dictator, due to
civil uproar from the assassination of one of the previous
leaders. Helfors has taken it upon himself to try and stabilize
Balmorra for the next century or so.
[center]Historical Document Stand:[/center]
The history of Balmorra is rich and quite fascinating. While we
would love to share our full history with all outsiders, Helfors
has forbidden the passing of history onto outsiders.

[s]The origins of this planet's people was quite accidental and
unexplainable. What we have learned is that a shipment of
convicts from elsewhere in the galaxy never reached its intended
destination. Crashing on Balmorra, the people who had convicted
the criminals never tried to recapture them. At first the people
brutally fought among themselves, killing each other on almost a
daily basis. This led to only a handful of people being left
before someone decided to step up and take charge of the
situation. Karleo, the first leader of Balmorra, wanted to
unite the people to make a lasting society as a statement to the
people who had left them there, he named the society the
Vindictive. Ten generations passed, after his death, before
another leader came to power to try and stabilize the society.
His name was Nelfa, he led the people into a golden age where
they were able to build cities, begin a full agriculture
community rounded out with a strong fishing/hunting party, and
set up a proper government. For ten years Nelfa oversaw and
worked among his people, leading them on into a bright future.
Sadly he died of a powerful virus that, against his best
attempts, spread quickly killing hundreds. After Nelfa's death a
new leader quickly took control, Knalcha was quick to gain power
for he had eliminated all who opposed him and lied to the people
to gain favor. He led the people into a dark age, which only
recently lifted, he made the society more industrial based. He
wanted revenge on the people who 'banished' them to this planet.
Under him, all people young or old were forced to work in newly
constructed plants, constructing pieces of a ship, one which
Knalcha planned to use to take over the galaxy. Near completion
of the ship, many of the people rose up against him, but the
military which had also been pulled together by Knalcha was more
than capable of killing those who stood up. However once Laresh
and Plun took over the rebellion, the tide turned and Knalcha
was killed in his palace, surrounded by the people he had once
ruled. He was executed by his very brother who was a well known
war hero against him. For his part in the rebellion the brother,
Helfors, was given the position in the Triumvirate. The ship was
taken apart and the pieces destroyed, however Helfors had plans
drawn up for smaller ships to help defend if needed. Later some
research was done and they found out that Knalcha was a direct
descendant of Karleo.[/s]
[center]Major News:[/center]
Leader Helfors has decided to expand Balmorra to Alderaan in an
attempt to strengthen this planets economy. To take this into
action he has led a fleet of 4 Venerate class cruisers and the
Droid Battle Transport, filled with 2000 droid, to Alderaan. He
has claimed that this is to capture the murderer and seditionist
Plun. One of the cruisers has broken off from the main force and
is heading to undisclosed destination.
[center]Military Statistics:[/center]
Our Balmorran Ground Force (or BGF) has 2000 armed droids, grade
4 armor, blaster rifles.
While the Air Command Team for Balmorra has 5 Venerate class
defense cruisers (which have 2 turrets, 4 turbolasers, grade 4
ship armoring, and a hyperdrive) and a new Droid Battle
Transport (which has 5 turrets, 5 turbolasers, grade 3 ships
armoring, size 1 droid accommodations, a droid control center,
and a hyperdrive).
