Ground Units

While starships are the instruments of controlling your empire,
good old fashioned ground troops are still needed to expand it.
Like ships, all ground units are modular, so their costs depends
on what you should choose to equip them with. There is also no
set "unit size;" costs apply to a single soldier or vehicle, so
you can whatever number of them you so desire. This means you
might want to create 2 thugs to guard your cantina, 200 to act
as marines on your flagship or 2,000 to seize a planet--the
choice is yours, and you will need to use a whole variety of
types and numbers of troops to keep your interests safe.
Not all units are designed for combat--you can also create
normal droids to assist in whatever work needs to be done and
Astromech or Protocol droids to give your empire the on-screen
banter we all love so much! No self-respecting Galactic Power
can go without a few R2s and 3POs!
The costs for ground unit components are listed below. To work
out how much your unit will cost in IP, add the necessary values
together and divide the result by 500

To get ground units on other planets, you must use
'Accomodation' modules. The amount of vehicles and troops you
can fit in a module depends on how much space they take up. A
size 1 Army accommodation module has 1000 troop points. A
soldier will take up 1 troop point. A size 1 Vehicle will take
up 5 Troop Points, a Size 2 10, a Size 3 will take 20 and a size
4 will take 40. A size 1 'battle droid accommodation' module has
2000 points, but can only be used to store droids. With both
modules, each level of size will double the capacity. A Heavy
battle droid takes 2 Troop Points; all other types take 1.
