The guards simply rolled their eyes and kept a sharp look out
for anything suspicious within the vicinity.

The Phantom simply laughed "Oh, sure, go ahead, shoot me full of
holes. I mean, it won't do anything, but if it'll make you feel
better go right ahead. Hey, maybe you can justify it to yourself
later, you seem good at justifying things, what was it you said
when you employed me? 'it's for their own good'?"

Both the princesses glared at Silver Fox, saying nothing, as if
indicated to allow him to 'talk' as he wanted to do. The only
princess who didn't let her horn stop glowing was Celestia.

of her other subjects, there is a poetic irony in that. Of
course, it's not like I minded much, kill an outspoken rebel
here, plant a few pieces of evidence there, pretty routine
stuff, even that time you had me murder the leader of another
country, it wasn't all that big a deal. But the way you carped
on about it, rationalizing and justifying it was enough to drive
a man mad"

Luna side-glanced at Celestia, who appeared to maintain her
aggressive yet regal posture.
The Sun Princess didn't want to hear any more of it, in her
defiant rage her horn glowed to a point where it was blinding
like the sun and shot a massive beam towards the Silver Phantom.

The beam shot towards The Phantom as he examined his hoof, he
picked at the edges of it with his teeth as the destructive beam
shot straight through him blasting away the throne, leaving him
floating in midair "I did say it would be futile, but how do you
feel? Do you feel better?" he said nonchalantly

"Sister, hasth thou spoken truth?" Luna questioned quietly, so
low hopefully Fox didn't hear.
Celestia chose to not answer the Silver Phantom nor her sister,
"Luna, lend me your strength. We cannot let him toy with us any
longer."
With that the alicorns' horns burned brighter than ever, so much
so that their eyes also glowed white. Their magic spread all
around them, engulfing the entire projection of the moon on
Luna's mane. The magic then focused onto the device in the
centre, the pressure causing it to crack.

As the device cracked The Phantom chuckled "What a shame, I was
beginning to have such fun" the device broke and the room
returned around them, the guards pressed in on The Phantom
stopping him from moving "I should really be thanking you, I
don't know how I would have gotten past all those guards without
you drawing them here" seeing the confused looks on their faces
he smiles smugly "Shall I show you" his horn glows and a picture
appeared above them, a picture of the royal vault door wide open
and the insides empty, the massive amounts of gems, jewels and
precious metals all gone. The Phantom began to flicker and
appeared directly in front of the princess's "It was a pleasure
seeing you again your majesties, oh and Luna, you might want to
ask your dear sister about her dealings with me in the past they
make for some quite interesting stories" he turned to Celestia
and bowed "I am, as always, your loyal subject" he said, before
the image disappeared. Above them the image changed to that of a
group of 5 masked ponies standing next to a large pile of
treasure, all together they bowed before the image disappeared

Princess Celestia stomped her front hooves on the ground in
front of her, causing the marble to crack and even the sun
setting outside burn a blinding light that covered all of
Equestria for a brief few seconds. "Damn him! Find him and have
him executed on sight!" the Princess roared, immediately sending
the search party out in a frightened frenzy.
"Sister." Nightmare Moon said sternly, walking towards her with
her mane flowing around her in such a way that it was
challenging her authority, "What hasth become of thou? Execution
by benefit or of spite, is forbidden."
Celestia turned to the Princess of the Night, regaining her
regal composure, "We will talk about it later... as for your
former Lord Protector..."
The white alicorn vanished from sight and teleported down to the
dungeons. "Release him, he is free to go with our apologies."
she ordered the two unicorns, who immediately released their
shield and ice hold on him. The guards also opened the cell door
and undid his shackles.
Princess Celestia vanished from sight again, reappearing in her
private quarters, looking out the window, watching her sister
fly out and bring out the night.

The Phantom turned to his friend and accomplices "We did it,
they won't be forgetting us any time soon" he went to each of
them and thanked them for their help before speaking to all of
them "I would like to thank each of you once again, for your
help tonight and for your companionship over the years, each of
you deserves and shall have your reward, we have just plundered
the treasure vaults of Canterlot and each of you shall take a
quarter, I wish you the best of luck in your endevours, and if
any of you find yourselves in great need then do not hesitate to
call upon me" with that he turned around and started the walk
into the forest where his transport was waiting, as he walked he
thought of Celestia's face when she discovered the box sitting
in her room, and the ornately carved sculpture of a fox inside
