What is Wrong?

Aqua carried Sugar into his caravan and into one of the many
spare rooms he had discovered inside, he laid her down on the
bed and left a note telling her where she was before going into
another room designed for magic practice. Aiming his horn at one
of the targets he begins to form a simple water control spell,
however just as the magic starts to take effect his horn flashes
red and the magic collapses inwards, the water boils and shoots
at one of the walls, intent on destroying it before being
stopped by a containing field around the room, collapsing in
weakness Aqua looks at himself in the pool of water "W-what's
wrong with me?" he asks himself

Aqua sits outside his caravan, a pile of books next to him "It's
not horn rot, it's not poison joke, it's not any of these
things" He stressed, he had spent all night attempting magic
with even the simplest of spells backfiring badly "The only
thing I can still do is levitation, I have to figure out what's
wrong"
(Aqua doesn't consider that Vesper could be the cause because of
the spell forced loyalty he has for her)

Finding a supposed cure for malfunctioning horns Aqua goes back
inside to mix it up, when he is done he drinks the potion and
goes outside to try and cast a spell, as the magic gathers his
horn once again glows red and the magic runs inwards instead of
outwards, throwing him against the side of the caravan with a
loud thud, he lies on the ground dazed "Well, that didn't work"

agitated by the sound, she mumbles more angrily.
"mrmmblm....hate all.....mmbmrr....stupid
unicorns....mermmble...earth-ponies...mrmbl"

Aqua stumbled back inside the caravan and sat down in the
kitchen, knocking over chairs and tables as he went, his vision
blurred with red and he found it hard to focus, he stumbled out
of the room and through several others, his mind felt fuzzy and
he had a deep contempt for all non-unicorns

She continued to sleep peacefully once more, mumbling about
other things

Stumbling into the room of the filthy pegasus Aqua stands over
her bed "Disgusting creature" he spits, his vision completely
tinged with red, his horn glows as he prepares to kill the
sleeping Sugar, but once again his magic backfires he yelps
loudly as he is thrown into the wall, passing out briefly

She jumps up awoken by the sound, only to see Aqua passed out
next to her bed. "what are....what did you DO to me last night?
where am i?" she questioned, as she found the note lying on the
table and began reading it over

Waking up Aqua's vision began to clear of the red and his urge
to kill Sugar faded, he slowly got up and limped over to the bed
to sit down "I-I didn't do anything to you"
