Some Ideas...
By: Blibby Date: December 28, 2010, 9:23 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Below I have typed up a ton of things that I think would be good
things to have in the game. Some of the ideas are completely
unoriginal and were probably going to be in the game anyway, but
I still listed them. I have put in a few of my own original
ideas for you all to look at as well. If by chance I say a idea
that has already been mentioned, I apologize to whoever said it
first, I had no intention of stealing it >.< Please look through
some if not all of the ideas I've listed and tell me what you
think. Fill free to pick and choose the ideas you like most, the
ideas you don't like, or how any of them could be improved.
Enhanced Edition - there should be an enhanced version of the
game that costs more than the standard but the player starts off
with more money and extra items. Mabye you could even
incorporate a alternate ending as well. This version could cost
$5.99 while the standard version costs $3.99. (Or whatever you
decide to price it at)
Speech Bubbles - one nice addition would to have speech bubbles
and above them, a graphic portrait of who is talking on either
side of the screen. (On the left would be a picture if you when
your talking then you fade away and on the right would be a
picture of the other person or group who is responding.) You
could also change the picture to reflect how they are feeling or
the action taking place. A good example of a game that has this
Is Zenonia or Fire Emblem.
Items - Very obviously, there must be items that the player can
use on himself or his creatures to enhance himself as a trainer.
(Poketballs, Heathy packs, etc.)
Poketmon traits - Poketmon should have a level that increases
with experience points you gain by defeating other poketmon and
by using special items. They should also have attributes that
affect battles game play. Some poketmon will be stronger in some
areas that others because they each have a type. This attributes
should also be able to be advanced by using special items.
Money - Whenever I play a game, I alway love it so much more if
there is a currency I could save or spend on items I personally
want to have. You should include this.
PMs - there should be special items that teach specific moves
that apply to all poketmon, some of them, or only one of them.
Each PM can only be used once, although some town might sell
certain PMs.
DMs - these are the special PMs that play key roles in the plot
line of the character and can be used repeatedly.
Towns - There should be Intervals on the characters journey
where the player can resupply at items shops, health centers and
just relax and look around at the side plots programed in that
town. (i.e. Finding a hidden shop that sells good items, meeting
a fisherman and playing a game for a prize, battling a trainer
that is partially secluded for a special item, etc.)
Trainers - There should be trainers placed throughout the game
that reflect the type of creatures in that area and the level
that the player should be around. If you win, you should also
gain money depending on how difficult of a match it was supposed
to be.
Gym Leaders - There should be Gyms and Gym leaders which give
out badges when you beat them so you can enter in a tournament
that is held once a month for the top trainer in the world (not
the real world). You must have all the badges to participate.
Gender - A nice feature would be able to choose you gender in
the beginning of the game, although I don't think this should
change anything in the game except maybe what he/she says.
General Format - I think that the way your character moves and
how everything is programed should be on a grid just like the
early Pokemon games; Not completely free roam like some of the
newer games.
Night and Day - I think you should include this. Like after an
hour of gameplay, the world changes to day or night. During the
night, there could be fewer trainers for him to face, but
thieves that sporadically appear and try to battle him for his
money. I think the creatures that appear in the "wild" should
either be different than those of the daytime or be a slightly
higher level than normal. Their should also be an inn at every
town so the person can choose to pay a small fee and "sleep" in
the inn, so he pretty much skips the night if he Dosnt want to
go out during then.
Multiplayer Aspects: I think a really cool feature to add in
every town (except the first town) would be Poketmon Collosiums.
In a Collosium, players would bet money on the outcome of their
battle. They could be paired with people who placed a bet around
the same money range, people with the same number of poketmon
with them, people with generally the same poketmon skill level,
people who have been playing the game as long as you, people in
the same town as you, people close to number of badges as you (A
one or two badge difference at most maybe) or any combination of
those. This way, the chances of a newbie with a level 5 poketmon
being paired with a trainer who has caught all the legendarys.
Whoever wins in the battle gets double what he betted while the
loser gets nothing. Adding tournaments with these option would
be entertaining too. It would also be fun to bet on items. There
could be a board of items with people constantly placing bets
for a item. the item's bidding period would close randomly and
then the two highest bidders would fight for it. The winner gets
their money back and takes the item while the loser loses his
money. My final thing to say about the multiplayer-concept is
this: there should be trade centers for the players. Like you
can go meet real person and see their inventory to click what
they want to try to get for what they will give up. Depending on
what you picked there should be a phrase that goes something
like "I'll trade you (integers here) -blank- for your (integer
here) -blank-. Then they would respond Yes or No and them get to
look through the other persons pack for items that appeal to
them. Each person should be able to "hide" or lock a item that
they want to keep mo matter what so the person dosnt just keep
asking for it again and again. They could also mabye trade
poketmon the same way. Or even give items or multiple poketmon
in order to seal the deal with the other trader. Of course
though, there needs to be restrictions about whom each person
can trade with so a person who just started couldn't get a
Legendary poketmon or Master-like ball.Â
A Plot: I wrote up half a rough plot line for one of the
characters. The Characters name is Bill in this.. Â After Bill
gets his poketmon, he goes through the wild to the next village,
Shurberry Town (which is the grass themed village), and sees
someone (his future rival) causing havoc! He was destroying
ancient Walka tree when Bill challenged the mischievous rebel.
If he wins, the person runs off and as a reward, the town gives
him half of the money he stole from the town. (He should steal
between $3000 and $6000 so Bill gets $1500 - $3000 as a booster
for his journey) Also, because he "Already proved his worth as a
fighter", Bill gets to fight the towns gym leader directly (if
he wants to) I stead of facing 2 or 3 trainers who are at the
gym as well. Â if he loses, the townsfolk gang bang the rebel
and he runs away. Whether or not he wins or loses, an elderly
man gives Bill directions to the next town, which he must travel
across a canyon to. While traveling through the canyon, he
encounters different poketmon and trainers. When he gets close
to the end of the canyon, he sees a the rebel who fled about to
cross a bridge to the next town. Then Bill fights him. If Bill
wins, he gets money and the anonymous rebel flees and takes a
longer route to the town. Bill then walks across the bridge to
the town. If he loses, then the rebel cuts the rope to the
bridge, forceing Bill to go the long way. And when he gets to
the town, they make him pay an amount of money to get it fixed.
A old man will fix it in 5 days time. When Bill enters the gym,
if he lost the battle with the rebel, the attendant will remark
that many people Are challenging the leader and a lad named
(Insert name here) just got his badge. If he loses, then he'll
learn his name later... Alittle while after he leaves the town,
he encounters a body of water. Then Bill meets a fisherman who
gives him a fishing rod and Poketballs he must use to catch
fish. Once he catches a water poketmon from the lake, the man
will ferry him across to the next town. In this town the player
needs to find the house of a old Navy officer who gives him the
Surf DM item to get out of the town because all exits are
surrounded by water. In the next town, which is bird themed, the
gym leader is missing...
The order of towns so far is:
Leaf/Grass type
Rock/Earth type
Water type
Bird type

I disagree with this idea. Splitting the game in two would mean
two different apps in the App Store. This makes it hard to get
the app on the top 100, which makes getting sales will be harder
as well. If there was to be something like this, it should
maybe be a boost app or something sold separately after the app
has been released for a descent bit of time. But I see what
you're getting at.
Speech Bubbles - one nice addition would to have speech

I like the speech bubbles idea, but the pictures fading *might*
be a lot of work for QD because he. for the most part, works
alone. And it isn't exactly necessary and wouldn't take away
from the game if it wasn't there. But the speech bubbles thing
would be nice :)
Poketmon traits - Poketmon should have a level that

The pokemon will most likely have powers and abilities if that
is what you mean, but from what I have read, QD's current plan
is to have seperate islands for battling and "free roaming" so
I'm not sure if the Pokemon's special ability can be done that
way or not.
Towns - There should be Intervals on the characters
journey where the player can resupply at items shops, health
centers and just relax and look around at the side plots
programed in that town. (i.e. Finding a hidden shop that sells

As said previously, I'm pretty sure the current plan is to have
separate islands ^_^

level that the player should be around. If you win, you should
also gain money depending on how difficult of a match it was
supposed to be.
Still, I can't be 100% sure because this game is still, for the
most part, in the stage of ideas. But QD has mentioned there
being a duel arena island, so I'm not sure if he will include
characters elsewhere bu you never know ^_^
Gender - A nice feature would be able to choose you
gender in the beginning of the game, although I don't think this
should change anything in the game except maybe what he/she
says.
Last time I saw, he was considering this.
Night and Day - I think you should include this. Like
after an hour of gameplay, the world changes to day or night.

"sleep" in the inn, so he pretty much skips the night if he
Dosnt want to go out during then.
Sounds pretty cool, but It would be better IMO if the day/night
thing didn't change the amount of trainers, or any other part of
the script (for simplicities sake lol)
Multiplayer Aspects: -snip-
The materials QD is using to create the game, doesn't currently
support multiplayer. But he has said he may implement a "code
system" where you can trade pokemon via a code generator or
something of the like.

move down until it's off the screen lol

No man I understand! You aren't supposed to know lol. Most of
those were talked about in the mod section, not your fault.
Most of them were good ideas lol. By no means was I trying to
put your post down lol.

good ideas, but if these were to be used it would just be a
direct copy of Pokemon, that's not what QD is looking for
exactly, it need sto be similar to Pokemon, but have some of
it's own aspects to it
