User character

When you first start the game you should be greeted by a
Professor, i.e. Professor Quantum or something lol, and then you
tell him your name, if your a boy or girl and finally have about
5 different characters to choose from like just different styles
of clothing and such.
also, NPCs, when you first start you talk to him, then it goes
into a tutorial telling you the controls and how to battle. Then
your given a quest, like go to the arena or something.

I may be able to do the tutorial thing that should work I dont
think I could do 5 characters though that would use up too much
RAM with the system I use to make my games. Maybe a boy and a
girl to choose from I could probably do that.

ok, I wasn't saying like 5 characters just like when you choose
who you are there could be different colors for him/her

Since this is in beta, I would stick to simple. User character
could be a boy or girl...how about picking one monster to follow
you around? I loved that idea in the original pokemon games.
Even if they're big, they can have a sort of "avatar" like thing
to follow you around. You can turn around and look at how it's
feeling.

That's a good one. Maybe be able to pick at least one Poketmon
to follow you while others rest in whatever type of "poke ball"
idea youre making Q but be able to switch out the creatures
instead of choosing one to ALWAYS follow you. If you have to do
certain task or quest, a certain Poketmon can help
You and you can control it.

Than 3 pokemon that you can choose. That was how it used to be,
and original is always the best. :D

I think it would be good if in the beginning you met a
Monster-Expert(This dude also is tutorial dude?), and he asked
you to retrieve a poke-ball type thing from a kid that stole it
from him, and gave you directions. then you walked around,
talked to the person that stole the thing and they explained how
they were innocent and wanted to be your friend, noticed you
were lonely, asked if you liked earth,water,fire,or wind better,
and depending on what you chose gave you a monster. Then that
monster would follow you around. The person would say sorry I
can't go with you because of some reason.

What if it is as simple as well not simple as but like you chose
boy/girl and change the color of 3 articles of clothing and a
name...
and yes a poketmon to follow you (also possibly customizable ;)
