Ethan frowns while considering the problem. He opens his mouth
as though to say something, but stops. Then he moves. Without
touching the ground, he flies around his grandparents and is
suddenly on the other side of his twin. There is an intense
flash of light and a thundering bang, and then little Ethan,
back at his own age is standing in front of his brother.
"I'm sorry," he says in his small voice, the confidence he had a
moment ago gone. "I didn't mean to hurt you." He hugs his
brother. Christopher calms a little and lets go of his mother.
Ethan stands awkwardly, looking somewhat ashamed and looks up to
       his mother.
"I'm sorry about the house, Mommy. I'll make it better." And
then there is a blinding flash and a thunderous bang once more,
and the adult, costumed Ethan is standing there. He blinks and
       shakes his head.
"It really is quite incredible how much clearer things are as an
adult." He looks at Sarah, "I don't have money to buy the
supplies to fix the house, and I'm by no means a trained
carpenter, but I can provide a labor for it with direction. Or I
might be able to earn some money for the supplies..." He shuts
his mouth and his eyes stare into the distance as he considers
       his options.
"Why are you doing this?" Sarah says, pained and confused.
Ethan blinks, and his gaze returns from his considerations. "I
want to help," he says. He looks at the pain on her face, really
looks at it. He sighs loudly. "Mommy... Mother, I know this is
sudden and confusing but... but I don't want to go back to being
a child. It isn't just that I can do more like this, do some
real good, but also that I... well, I don't want to back to a
child's mind. I never knew how much broader things were for
adults, but now I do. I don't want to just lose that
       perspective."
