Tiffany draws herself inward. She takes a step away from O'Doyle
in the DC hotel room. "I don't know," she says. "Why do you want
to meet my parents anyways?"

flower that she had origanly met "I" another long pause almost
as if he where lost for words "I thought that er." Another long
almost awkward pause "Look I love the you and ..."

"Oh," Tiffany says. Then she let's silence sit there like a
crocodile sits in a pond.
"Look, it's not that I don't care about you. My parents are
just..." she takes a bit to try and find the word, "Themselves.
I don't want to be around them, and you sure don't need their
permission for anything." She doesn't stumble back or try to
replace the words. They're the right words, or at least spoken
with confidence that they are.

He stepped forward and pulled her in to a loving embrace kissing
her deeply. "Who's permission do I need?" he whispered in her

Tiffany pauses a moment to feel the kisses on her neck, then
steps abruptly out from under them.
"Okay,' she says, "We need to talk. Are you thinking about
marriage? Because, I'm starting to think you are. And, if you
are thinking about it, you must have some kind of plan for what
would come next. So, let's hear it."

that. But not until the now pointless war is over. Look I
thought I lost you once when the bass was hit while I was on
liberty. I don't know if I could lose you again." He sits on
the bed and looks up at her.

"Pointless?" Tiffany repeats. She says it slowly and
deliberately. "A communist nation has access to people who can
rip tanks apart, blow up military installations with their
minds, and, apparently, brainwash people into serving them, and
you think the war is pointless?" at this point she's almost
shouting, "Vietnam could be the next China, the next USSR. And
who's going to stop their expansion?"
She seems actually angry.

"I will." He let his answer hang in the air for a moment before
he held up his hand and continued.
" Look half of my squad got whipped out by Tung the couldn't
have hurt him or stoped him they where just an annoyance their
death where pointless. How many more normal people have to die
before the governments diced to fight to win? My grandfather
was an Anzac and the pointless fighting at Gallipoli and then
his time on the western front broke him. So no the war isn't
pointless, but the way it's being fought right now shore as hell
is." He said allowing his emotions to flow for one but never
shouting.
" However some of the metas who may be useful in end the war
quickly and in our favor do see the war as pointless and won't
'fight', but we may be able to convince the to help stop the
'pointless war'."

as well as Weeks. Hell if some of the metas over there are
brain washed they might help end the war." He continued. "Or if
it could be arranged maybe even get Mr. West running
distractions behind their lines."
