Re: David the Goliath: Dr. Hertz

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Rita tries to keep up with the multitude of thoughts passing
through Wally's mind, but there's no real hope of a human mind
keeping all of those solutions in order. She tries hard,
however. Her family needs her, and she doesn't want to be left
behind, unable to help when it really matters. But, a human mind
simply can't think like Wally is thinking right now. Still, she
       tries.
       It works.
The transition is abrupt and confusing on both sides, but Rita
goes from trying desperately to catch the larger thread to
suddenly following the entire thing. Her mind expands and begins
thinking as broadly and quickly as her husbands.
Two minds, each with an incredible chorus of smaller thinking
cells entwine to address the problem of one sullen young man
       with a serious drug problem.
Both of them are fully aware that Wally could remove any
addictions right now, but that wouldn't fix David. No, forcing
him to go through the hard process of getting clean is far more
likely to drive the point home. He has to see what he's done to
       himself, and done to them.
Or, Wally knows, he could just ask the president for a favor.
It's a thought he keeps fro Rita, but Johnson could probably
talk David into being a better son, a better man. It would
involve asking for a favor, and potentially revealing what he
knows about Johnson's powers... but it could fix David without
all the mess and confusion Rita's predicting. They both know
that a metahuman with untested powers going through withdrawal
could turn out exceedingly dangerous, and neither of them really
       know David anymore.
Even as, in a closed off part of his mind, Wally thinks this,
Rita's attention- no, attentions, her individual cells are
thinking like Wally's now- are still running through situations
about David. They can't easily contain him to make him go
through with a treatment, he'll just shrink away and escape.
Then again, she can always simply bring him back.
And, even while this is all going on, the two of them consider
the fact that Rita is now as smart as her husband, or maybe not
quite as smart as Wally can still close off parts of his mind,
but there's no way to easily compare them. Inhumanly, impossibly
       smart.
And then Rita knows how they can get David to go through with
it. He has a girlfriend named Carrey Breeze. Rita's mind.
Another addict. If she goes cold turkey, she can get him to. All
they have to do is convince her, and keep her convinced.
Neither Wally or Rita want really want to bring Ms. Breeze into
the picture, though. Dragging David here is already...
questionably legal. Dragging a stranger certainly is. Besides,
she's clearly no good for David.

"I don't care." Is the simple answer to the question of legality
regarding Ms. Breeze. "The problem will be solved."
On the other side of his mind Wally feels immense attraction to
Rita. Her new intelligence and synergy with him gives him a
sense of one-ness that he has never felt except when they are
joined in intercourse. He cannot help but think about driving
himself into her while they are shared like this.

It's not that the sexual urge isn't mutual, but Rita drives it
from her mind. At least, from most of her mind.
We need to focus, she thinks to Wally, I don't want to bring
that girl in unless we have to. She's clearly no good for him.
       Frustration radiates off of her.
What good is being able to think like this if it only let's you
see all the potential ways things could go wrong?
Even before the thought is done, another part of her thinks, Is
this what it's always like for you, Wally?

Given time, you can work towards good answers, but yes. I
wouldn't call it a curse, but it's not all what it's cracked up
to be. The real trick is learning to think of more than one
       thing at a time
Wally thinks of plans to gather Ms. Breeze and fix her as well.
We will meet her. Convince her to become better. Then bring her
to David. But we can't do much without food and some time. We'll
       work on this later.

"Of course," Rita says aloud. She returns focus to the chicken.
Mostly. Her mind is still reeling through other things, but
       mostly returning to David.
       Another question does arise though.
If I made David a metahuman... should I do the same for Sara?
It's been wonderful for you, and this is incredible, but
David... what if something like that happens to Sara? Even while
she's thinking of it, she's also thinking of their
grandchildren. They shouldn't miss out on this gift, but they
certainly shouldn't get powers till they're older. And ready for
it. And they know more about how it works.
       Thinking this way is tiring.
Soon enough, though, the chicken is done. And Rita goes upstairs
to extract David. She's thoughtful enough to do it by walking.
David comes down, sure enough. Reluctant and mopey.
I don't think he's going to run, Rita thinks, I think he
       understands he can't.
For the first time in what seems like ages, Rita, Wallmand and
David sit together at the dinner table, over roasted chicken and
       greens.
       David remains silent.

Wallmand grunts in affirmation to Rita's conversation. Focusing
on eating the chicken with his non-dispersed body and trying to
       be normal around David.
       OOC
I think this is good for this scene
