"I'm not sure how much Africa is going to need my help soon,"
Boris says hopefully, "That Health Screen Plus device that's
been sent down there is already transforming things. I haven't
gone personally, yet, but the reports are promising. Rumor has
it the whole thing was designed by a single metahuman at Around
the Corner Industries." Boris gets animated as he goes on about
the potential changes being brought to the world. He has a
genuinely refreshing hope and optimism about the potential of
metahumans, no matter how many horrible news stories boil up.

"What's this Health Screen Plus?" Hertz asks. "I've been
preoccupied with a great many things back in Nevada. Honestly,
it feels like I'm coming out of a tomb sometimes."
"It really shouldn't hold us back, even if someone is already
'handling it', cooperation is cornerstone of our civilization
and any help would definitely be appreciated." He assures Boris

"Edgar huh? He's a smart little guy." Beatrice makes the dog do
one last spin and tosses him the last bit of brisket.
"It's nice to meet you. I'm Beatrice Rollins." Beatrice quickly
any traces of dog slobber and steak off her hands before
offering it to Luci to shake.

Luci shakes her hand. "I have to confess, I don't recognize the
name. What brings you out here?"

As I spoke to you about, Hertz does know about the health
screen, so I'm going to assume this wasn't really said.

"If you say so," Boris says, "I'm just happy to help, any way I
can. How's your family doing? Any word from your son?" Boris
speaks with genuine concern. He asks after these things a lot,
always lending a compassionate ear.

"No." Hertz internally sighs at the thought, but doesn't
showboat it with his puppet. He shows a bit of sadness on it
though. "I'm going to start seriously looking at him after this
next meeting I have with some backers for my project in Nevada."
Hertz pauses for a moment. "But the rest of them are doing fine.
Son-in-law is going to be district attorney soon. Can't say it's
been bad between the wife and I." Hertz winks at Boris and
raises his eyebrows a few times with a devious smirk on his face
as he takes a drink of beer.

"I wish I could help you find your son," Boris says, "I know how
that hurts. If there's anything I can do, just let me know." He
smiles, "But it's good to avoid focusing on the negative. We've
both been given a new lease on life, and it would be
irresponsible wasting it worrying. Especially not when we have
the power to do something about it. At least, sometimes."

Her first impulse was to say "I was invited". But it wouldn't do
to be so flip. Instead Beatrice smiles politely and says
"Oh, I work with the Dr. Horne, Dr. Hertz, and Dr. Jones."

I did indeed forget. Whoops. Let me ammend my previous post:

Rollins. Daddy never talks too much about the work of
metahumans, but it does find its way onto the news." Edgar jumps
up on her, planting his forepaws on her and standing on its back
paws. She scratches him behind the ear.
"Well, if you'd like to talk about work I'll gladly listen, but
I'd be a poor hostess to insist on it. Maybe you'd like to see
the grounds, or talk about something else. Or even just be left
alone with Edgar here. I understand."
