events that happened in our regular history. I intend to start
by posting the lists right from the book, but will add others as
I find them. Feel free to add your own significant events, just
be sure to include dates (at least years).

US Culture
The big films of 1968 include The Graduate, In the Heat of the
Night, Cool Hand Luke, Bonnie and Clyde and Guess Who’s Coming
to Dinner? Some of the year’s hit songs are Otis Redding’s
“Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay,” “Dance to the Music” by Sly
and the Family Stone, “Mony Mony” by Tommy James and the
Shondells, Mason Williams’ “Classical Gas” and Aretha Franklin’s
“Chain of Fools.”
