Your character needs to have a somewhat realistic name, and must
not break TOS.
Players must follow Twitch.tv Terms of Service (TOS) at all
times. Click HERE to view them.
Being toxic, or breeding toxicity in any platform (this includes
twitch, reddit, discord, etc) can have you removed from the
community at any point in time.
Speaking on the IRL deceased is strictly prohibited and
violators of this rule will be handled appropriately.
We will enforce a strict code of conduct within our community
and act on items that are distasteful, for example: harassment,
sexual harassment, excessive name calling or shaming, targeted
attacks a on personal level, etc. - This can result in a
permanent ban.
You’re not allowed to leak information of another person or make
threats.
You’re not allowed to intimidate players from playing on the
server or continuously harass them in-game for out of character
reasons.
Simply put, respect one another; have justification and
reasoning for your actions. Simply saying “it’s my character”
will not be considered a valid response.
Consequences: Any Class Depending on the Situation [Class A -
Class D] - or Removal from the Windy City Community.
Interactions
Sexual, torture or extremely gross roleplay is not allowed, and
should never be roleplayed.
Scenarios such as rape and nonconsential touching are
prohibited.
Players breaking the rules doesn’t mean the roleplay stops, if
you have an issue with the player submit a report in-game or on
the forums.
Players trying to meet someone via stream sniping isn’t allowed.
If you’re found to be stream sniping you will be permanently
banned and unwhitelisted from the server.
All players must follow the Twitch Terms of Service. Click here
to view them.
All players must remain in character unless an administrator
says otherwise. Local OOC should only be used if needed.
Players may not void roleplay or any scenario unless a Game
Admin or Lead Admin says otherwise in the result of a report, a
scene may not be voided without first going to the forums. You
must follow all administrator instructions.
Reports must remain professional from all parties involved,
forum reports and in game reports. Players should never argue
under reports or participate in any unnecessary toxicity. Please
keep in mind upon a situation happening a report should be
submitted onto the forums within 48 hours of the situation
occurring. Any mis-use of the forums in regards to trolling,
disrespectful, or previous reports being brought to a new
report, is a Class B Consequence.
All players may not cut off interactions between you or another
player unless a Lead Admin+ says otherwise.
Consequences: Class C or D Depending on the Situation
In-game Rules
0. Admin Discretion
When a player's actions or general conduct negatively impacts
another player's roleplay experience and/or undermines the
realistic roleplaying atmosphere we strive to create on Windy
City Roleplay, admins have the authority to punish that player
for violations not covered by the guidelines below. This also
means that admins have the full ability to punish players for
scenes where terrible roleplay is represented and the use of
forums is not necessary - only if the situation matches this.
Consequences: Class B or Class C
1. Common Courtesy
All players should treat others with respect. You’re not allowed
to break the rules because someone else did. You shouldn’t
disrupt, stall or void roleplay unless an administrator tells
you too. Examples;
Quitting the game to avoid roleplay (combat logging) - Automatic
21 day ban.
Repeatedly refusing to roleplay / Avoiding roleplay
Failing to properly roleplay character injuries.
Bugs, Dsync issues are to be roleplayed out.
Assets are to not be transferred without approval by
Administration.
Homophobia, Misgendering, and Targeted Hateful remarks are
strongly prohibited, and will not be taken lightly.
Insulting another player through Out of Character chat of any
form. (Forums, Discord, Etc.)
Disregarding an administrator's decision or ignoring their
messages.
Failure to roleplay a car crash, unless caused by d-synch and
voided by an administrator.
Purposely being away from keyboard to avoid roleplay.
Properties should be sold at realistic prices, players should
not be adding hundreds of thousands of dollars for no apparent
reason.
When on the other side of any type of violent actions, injuries
should be roleplayed fully until the next server restart. After
then you can continue with any roleplay of your liking.
Poor Escalation - any type of roleplay that wasn't built up
properly or given a sufficient reason to perform any type of
attack can lead to punishment.
If you come across a bug or exploit on any of our services
you’re required to report it. Exploiting it and using it will
result in a permanent ban and it’s your obligation to report
rule-breakers as well.
Do not attempt to purchase/sell weapons/drugs through the in
game “Yellow Pages” application, this is very subpar and will
result in punishment.
If you are admin jailed for breaking any rules with a weapon in
your inventory, you will not be refunded for this weapon.
Consequences: Any Class Depending on the Situation [Class A -
Class D]
2. Metagaming
Metagaming is defined as using out of character information in
character. Metagaming can also be classified as having someone's
stream pulled up, being in a discord call, or plotting out of
character. Inciting someone else to metagame is against this
rule.
John Doe reads something from out of character chat and
roleplays knowing that in-character.
Jane Smith reads something from twitch chat and roleplays
knowing that in-character.
Using out of game communications like Discord, Skype, etc. to
communicate in character while in-game is forbidden.
Consequences: Class C
3. Powergaming
Powergaming can be defined as performing acts that are not human
like; forcing roleplay on others without giving them a fair
chance; making up things which did not happen so that you can
benefit; roleplaying things which are not possible script-wise
so that you can gain an unfair advantage. Examples;
Talking/Organizing/Calling out locations while downed.
Finding the quickest way to make money, rather than roleplaying
around the mechanic.
The use of /me and /do should be used as much as possible to
help aid your scenarios.
Driving at unrealistic speeds with no character reason over and
over.
Purposely stomping to death playing around the health bar.
Consequences: Class B
4. Deathmatching
Killing another person without a sufficient roleplay reason
(deathmatching) is not allowed. Unnecessary provoking falls
under this rule as well. Terrorism is strictly forbidden.
Vehicle Deathmatching (VDM) - Purposely using your vehicle to
harm or kill another player. This does not mean everytime you
are hit by a vehicle that it is Vehicle Deathmatching, but if it
matches the description then the rule was broken.
This also includes revenge killing — when you respawn after
being executed and then kill (or at least attempt to) the person
who has just murdered you. Your In Character memory is wiped off
everything that led up to your death when you are killed, so you
should forget about your attacker. Examples;
Attacking another player/group without any story/roleplay
leading up to it.
Attacking another player/group using a Vehicle with the intent
to kill/knock them out without valid reasoning or initiation.
John Doe has killed you over a legitimate in character reason
and you respawned without being saved by the Police
Department/Fire Department so you get a gun from your house and
go back and kill him.
You provoke a fist fight with two people who are unarmed and
then you pull your firearm out and kill them.
Players cannot provoke a situation or another player without
valid reasons behind it.
Deathmatching Mentality - Unnecessary provoking without
sufficient reason, or finding any reason to use unnecessary
force against another user.
Ex: Roleplaying Server Limits/ Not Fearing Police in a shootout.
Ex2: Forcing your way into a beef, that has nothing to do with
your character's storyline.
Consequences: Class A-C
5. Robbing and Scamming
Robbing is defined as taking someone’s possessions (money/items,
etc) by force or threat of force. Scamming is defined as
offering a good or service and then refusing to pay or give it.
Robberies and scams must be strictly done in character.
Players are unable to force other players to withdraw money from
an automated teller.
Escalation is important. You must always have a valid reasoning
behind robbing someone that you have in character knowledge of,
your only reasoning shouldn't be you saw them standing outside
of a large house. (you will face punishment for poor escalation)
Players are unable to force another player to sell them their
vehicle via script commands during a robbery.
Players are unable to force other players to hand over assets
that aren’t present in the area.
Players may not scam vehicles or properties
You may not kill someone during a robbery, UNLESS they bring it
upon themselves.
Players may scam for a maximum amount of $20,000 and nothing
greater.
Players may not rob items from the Police Department and Fire
Department, if you happen to commit a robbery on an off duty
officer or medic taking any CPD/CFD items is prohibited.
Players can't commit a robbery while operating a luxury,
high-end, or sports car.
Players are able to rob all of the cash you are carrying on your
persona. Avoid walking around with twenty thousand dollars
unless you don’t care about losing it.
Looting people who are dead is forbidden.
A group who splits up shouldn't be hitting a house in 4
different areas of the map to try and spread police out just so
they can succeed.
You may not rob a player while they are performing a scripted
job on the server, ex: garbage pickup.
Only tell a player to 'put their hands up' or 'don't move'
solely if you intend to rob them, not if you intend to kill
them.
You may not Rob/Scam a player inside of a greenzone.
Any purchase of illegal activities such as drugs and firearms
must be purchased with cash and cash only, failure to do so
could result in a validation of a scam. (This Includes being
able to scam above the scam limit.)
No, you cannot rob a player owned business and restaurants.
Using out of character knowledge such as knowing out of
character who has a weapon and where someone lives is forbidden
and you will face punishment for metagaming.
Players may only commit one robbery every 4 hours.
Players may only rob the houses in these specific areas on the
map. You may not rob houses in other areas unless approved by a
GA+.
