SOOOOO....FAVOURITE CHARACTERS?

*ahem* dunno why i wrote that in capslock. Anyway, do any of you
guys have a favourite character? If so, why do you like them?
I'm just a curious person who wants to know these things. :3
no i'm secretly a spy who's going to use the information for
evil. oh, before i forget, here is my all time favourite
character and why:
My favourite character has to be sonic the hedgehog, because,
he's so much more than just a character to me.
He's my role model. I have problems with depression, so i feel
empty a lot of the time. The only thing that manages to make me
smile is sonic. He's really inspired me to keep pushing on. He
brightens io my fay when no one else can. He's my hero.
(and no that doesn't make me a fangirl. I just have a deep
respect for him. I wouldn't even dream of acting like that
around him.)
*ahem once again*
So, yeah. Thats my story. I'm sure everyone else's aren't as
depressing as mine. So tell us:

That's a really sweet story, I'm glad you can find something to
make you happy even when you're suffering.
I'll try to keep myself from gushing, but my absolute favourite
fictional character is Master Asia from G Gundam.
Trying to keep it short, he's one of the major antagonist
characters who is introduced as the main character's martial
arts teacher, and is quickly revealed to be on the bad guys'
side. At the beginning he seems like an unbreakable,
undefeatable monster that only serves as a goal for the main
character to overcome, but as the story progresses you see him
make a lot of moral decisions that make him out to be still
good-hearted like saving the main character from dying and
acting out against dirty tactics within the evil corporation.
In the end you find out he's been lamenting his past life
decisions and is trying to atone for what he's done, albeit with
a slightly skewed idea of how he should be going about it, and
he finally dies at peace with the main character and his goals.
The character really made me realise that everyone has meaning
behind their actions. In video games you end up thinking of the
bad guys as just heartless monsters wanting something arbitrary
like power or money, but in real life everyone has a reason or
cause they're fighting for, no one is just plain "evil". I don't
feel ashamed to say that this character really made me
re-evaluate the way I was living my life.
Since then I've always appreciated fictional villains with
understandable motivations, the kind who you can say "under the
same circumstance I would have done the same thing", because it
feels so much more real and thereby engaging.

My favorite character has changed over the years. I find it
really hard to just narrow it down to one character, because I
still adore all of them and they mean a lot to me for different
reasons.
My first favorite character is named Dart, and he's from a PS1
game called The Legend of Dragoon. I first played the game with
my Dad when I was maybe four or five, and replayed it when I was
in the third grade (So... eight? Nine?) Even revisiting the game
when I was in my mid-teens, I found myself gushing over Dart and
his really cheesy battle cries. I've heard a couple people call
him a rather generic protagonist, but for me, that was never the
case. I always thought he was a very heroic character.
He has a rather tragic past, but unlike a certain Final Fantasy
protagonist that won't be named or a red and black hedgehog, he
doesn't brood over it. He doesn't let it rule him in a negative
way at all. His initial goal in the game is to avenge his family
and hometown by defeating the monster that took it all away from
him, and even through the events of the game, it's still his
goal until it ties in with the plot of the game. By looking at
the guy, you really wouldn't think something so horrible
happened to him, because he's always very brave and positive.
Even when recounting the tale to his allies, he doesn't stay
down for too long. He never really lets it get to him.
Even when given the chance to kill the man that murdered his
best friend in cold blood later in the game, he doesn't take the
opportunity - It won't bring back his friend, it won't bring
back the countless lives he took. It won't solve anything. To
me, that always felt really... It made me feel like Dart was a
very powerful character. His enemy offers himself up, but he
doesn't do it. He doesn't let himself be overrun with his
emotion. Killing him won't solve anything at all, and it
probably wouldn't make him feel any better either. Just... In
general, what happens to Dart and his friends in the game is
quite a bit to handle, and yet he still finds it within himself
to keep going.
[size=8pt]Ah... I meant to talk only a little bit about Dart and
move onto other characters, but uh... I just have a lot of
feelings for Dart and The Legend of Dragoon in general. Oops.

I have many favourite characters, but the one that stands out
the most for me would have to be Aqua from Kingdom Hearts: Birth
By Sleep. She stands out the most because *KH:BBS Spoilers* she
sacrifices herself for Terra and Ven so they can be okay even if
that means she can never see them ever again. When Terra fell
into the Realm of Darkness she went in head first without a
second thought to save him. And she made so he'd be free while
she stays behind in there! And that is why Aqua is freaking
awesome.

Wellllll I like Little Mac from Punch Out. He represents so much
with so few words. His utter determination is inspiring and he
fights in the face of impossible. Little Mac is a short seveteen
year old kid and he takes on titans who can be described as
nothing less than "super human." There's a reason people love
underdogs, and for me Little Mac represents the underdog spirit
and the will and determination of steel which I find nothing
less than admirable.

those characters.

I have a real soft spot for the paladins of Fire Emblem - Seth,
Titania and Frederick especially. Dedicated, loyal and a
constant support, even if they can be a bit old fashioned or
overbearing. Each has their own set of baggage, continued
problems but remain a patient and steadfast companion through it
all. Frederick's S-support with Lissa simultaneously broke and
warmed my heart. Seth's A support with Eirika and Titania's love
and respect for Greil still makes me sad after all this time.
Also all three of them are Oifreys not Jeigans looking at you
Marcus. You can solo the entirety of FE8 with Seth just saying.

I though Frederick was a Great Knight....... and I don't know
the other Characters you are talking about other then Lissa.

Aha my bad, he still fits that 'prepromoted unit that serves the
lord/main character and is a useful crutch for beginners'.
Marcus is from FE7, just Fire Emblem for GBA and was the first
English release! He's the purple haired paladin that servers
Eliwood. He was also in FE6, Roy's game.
Seth if from FE8, Sacred Stones for the GBA, the red haired
paladin that escapes in the first chapter with Eirika. In their
A conversation they both admit their love but due to their roles
and duty as knight and queen they never act on it.
Titania is from Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, the Tellius
games for GC and Wii, another red head who leaves her service
with Crimea to follow Greil and serve as his second in command
for the mercenary group they start. She was in love with Greil
but he was already married when they met, and even after his
wife's death Titania does not reveal her feelings out of respect
to her memory and the love Greil had.
Oifrey and Jeigan are characters from previous FEs, and are used
to describe character growths - an Oifrey is a promoted unit
that you receive early on that is strong and will be an exp soak
early but due to their growth rates will still be a good unit
later in the game. A Jeigan just outright soaks up exp and never
becomes good no matter how much effort you put into them.
wow look at all those words can you see the pieces of my heart
scattered among them?

Yeah I can see your shattered heart. On another note FE:A is the
first FE game I have played unless you count playing as Marth
Who I thought was a girl when I first saw him on SSBB.
