Because I took a few liberties with him.
Personality
Falkner has a very calm and collected exterior. He also tends to
take matters seriously, and hear all sides of an argument before
making a decision. However, he is a bit hesitant in his approach
towards others, and will also often space out. He's also not
very forgiving if one hurts someone he cares about, and will
hold the grudge for months. Otherwise, Falkner is a guy worth
knowing.
Backstory
Falkner aspired to be like his father ever since he was little.
One day, his father left the duty of the Violet City gym to him,
as the older man had set off on a different path.
At first his father's pokemon disliked Falkner, and he even got
a small scar on his shoulder from a pidgey. However, as the
inexperienced gym leader grew, so did his relationship with his
father's pokemon. Eventually, he caught other flying type
pokemon as well.
Eventually his father came back, and took control of the gym
again. In acceptance, Falkner decided to move to Metropolis in
search of a new life. His father allowed him to keep the team he
uses for rematches in Saffron's dojo. (In other words, Falkner
will be using his HG/SS rematch team
