My dog is a trip. Poor guy will follow me all around house in
hopes that I won't leave him. He would follow me off a cliff for
real. On my heels everywhere I go. I love him dearly. But he's
putting on some age (12) and he really doesn't need to tire
himself doing that all the time. All that anxiety over
nothing...I catch myself saying damn dude! Chill out and go lay
down. Relax!. I'm not going anywhere...
Click.
Good night guys

Jed rant this morning...
--- Quote from: Jed McKenna link ---
>
> Dear Members:
>
> When I was young I thought that hypnosis would be a fun tool.
Starting when about 10 years old I use to practice relaxation
when going to sleep. I doubt if I every entered hypnosis, but I
slept really well.
>
> So, let's look back. I would say to myself, ''my foot is
relaxing, deeper and deeper'' and all that good stuff, all the
way up my body. Usually I was out of it after my upper leg. But
something quite profound was going on and I think you might be
able to relate to it.
>
> Here was a voice in my head laying claim to an appendage on an
apparent body. I was saying ''My... ''. Now, this was not me
saying it, it was that little habitual voice in my head... it
was claiming ownership before anything actually happened. It was
Maya/ego stepping in and preemptively claim that the foot
belonged to her/it. Here is a fictitious, insubstantive,
unimportant, wispy little voice based on previous brainwashing
and memories claiming that IT owned that foot.
>
> No one owned that foot, it just was. I might have said
something like, ''that thing that appears at the end of
something called a leg and belonging to no one because there is
no one to whom it could belong is beginning to relax, but not
because it is being controlled by the fictitious voice that
appears to be making these meaningless sounds, but perhaps
because it seems like a good idea, seeing as how there appears
to be a body lying down and thinking of sleep.''
>
> When you talk in terms of ''I, me, my, or mine'' you are
reinforcing the illusion that the voice in your head is you,
that it has control and ownership. There is no you who could
ever own anything. But Maya/ego will endless talk in the first
person claiming ownership. Just listen to a conversation and not
how many times people use the word ''I'', or maybe note how may
times you use it.
>
> Can you get a sense of this insidious mechanism, one of ego's
first lines of attack. You gotta admit, it's insidious and very
well hidden... in plain view.
>
> Perhaps spend some time in your head speaking in the third
person. ''She seems to be hungry'' is much more truthish than "I
am hungry''. ''His car looks like it could use a washing'' is
better that, ''I think I'll wash my car.''
>
> Your thoughts are welcome... but... are they really yours?
>
> Love ya, Jed.
>
--- End Quote ---
There seems to be a point where I was really self conscious
about this and 'tried' really hard to monitor my wording as to
not fall back into that state of mind.
The problem wasnt necessarily the belief in there being any I
here. Rather my attempts to not speak in a firs person
subjective left me either sounding unintelligible and reinforced
this idea that there was some I in which to escape in the first
place.
This thing works both ways I guesses. Once the understanding is
there, the need to act or sound like an enlightened or
accomplished being in any way is gone. Really no need for such
games or the reinforcement of the illustration that I tries so
hard to get away from.
It's all games. Only this illusion of I can stop playing. I've
found a helpful attitude is, "there appears to be a body/mind
vehicle here. So what?"
Thanks for the rant. :)

Excellent posts, Really enjoy the "finding" here, I went through
a long period where it was fascinating trying to write without
pronouns, initially it was an effort of trying to be what I
thought it was all about, trying it all on and "thinking" if I
emulate it I will be it. Ha, Maya....
Then one day... "click" and from there on pronouns didn't mean
anything anymore, it was no problem using them because there was
nothing here attaching itself to them. Now I write from whatever
place arises, sometimes I work around pronouns, it's still
quirky and challenging to do so and when thinking about the
reader of such remarks it sometimes feels a necessity to express
what wants to come out from the non pronoun place. Other times I
just write the way it comes, with or without pronouns it really
doesn't matter, not because I "think" it doesn't matter, just
that it all dropped away, the ego driven need for it to "look" a
certain way which would then mean "I" would look a certain
way... Oh me oh Maya, such a trickster. :D

I happened to catch it (the video), and was impressed with the
big, beautiful, bulges of earth. :)
Also, Justin, you look about what I had put together in my minds
eye.
BTW: Nessa has reverted the "chopping wood and carrying water".
Unlikely to rejoin conversationally.
I appreciated that she let my experience know she is well.

Curious about your FEAR. Fear of what? Just the innocent
curiosity!
Fear is something I shed a long time ago, but it still intrigues
me. My dreams are quite drab, devoid of emotion or fear. Kinda
think I'd like the adrenaline.

My knee has recovered, so I am back to my basics:
Steam/stretch/appreciate body parts (literally applaud body
parts)/tennis or weights/observe the beauty of human bodies/put
a salad together/eat/nap/appreciate/varied evening
meal/sleep/repeat.
May seem boring, but I'm getting quite addicted to this.
Plus, the parking spaces are always close. (Still puzzeled - I
don't mind walking)
As I say, I am enjoying the flow.

Quit my job last week. Just felt like the right thing to do
given the circumstances. No back up plan nothing.
Got a call this morning out of the blue. Went to investigate and
looks like I'll be sliding nicely into a cushy management
position for a friend who owns this business. Literally NO
effort on my part.
Never ceases to amaze me the way things unfold.
Hope all is well guys. :)

Ha, good catching up, was at my Gpa's 95th bday party over the
weekend, he just chops wood and carries water, and
smiles/laughs/cries a lot, its quite amazing watching someone
who doesn't think about the past much unless prompted and has no
use for the future beyond when is his next meal...
I got talked into playing the guitar for family, I haven't
played much so I stuck to one song that I know so well that its
hard to screw it up. I honestly am a horrible guitar player and
I know it, to hear comments afterward about how talented I am is
what set off a rant on FB today, seems to have hit a nerve but
like anything where words are concerned 99% missed the point I
was after and just fell into old hardened ruts that they already
believe, so hard to get anyone to see something new, they just
search their memory banks for something they already have that
seems similar to whats being said and think they've "got you".
Oh well, there's always Plato's Kave... ;D
