Let's start anew.
Hi, I'm Kristen. I thought I was joining a forum about the
Dreamstate, as described by Jed McKenna in his trilogy, but it
turned out to be some snake-pit of people going at each others
throats... including mine, and I just got here. So I was
wondering if someone could explain to me what this place is.
Because it's obviously not a place where "done" folk exchange
notes about how their enlightenment is working out.

Hi Kristen,
Here is a place to start.
HTML https://platoskave.createaforum.com/notes/welcome/
This forum is in it's eleventh year and many here have been here
since it's inception, consequently we are very familiar (like a
family of sorts) with each other's BS and have no problem
calling each other out. I'm sure it looks terrible from the
perspective of someone coming in for the first time but I can
assure you that there is a lot of love between the lines of what
may seem like vitriol, if you've ever had arguments with family
you'll understand what I'm getting at.
We have all been through a lot in here together and every person
who starts on a path to self (un)awareness is alone on that
path, every path is different and every age has it's
"parameters" that distinguish what may or may not be going on
for each "seeming" individual.
Currently we have 2 factions in here it seems, those that
believe "enlightenment" by any designation or terminology is
just a lie and a sales job on a gullible humanity, then there
are others (myself included) who have experienced a total change
of life experience through either a "God-consciousness" event or
an "ego-depletion" event... or both.
This schism is where we are currently it seems and where the
frustration (viper pit) is emanating from, some have left here
and erased all their words (sadly as it ruins very interesting
threads) only to come back a year or two later to welcome arms.
If you are not Fritz (which I had assumed) then welcome and
enjoy, ask any questions you might have...
Plato (Steve)

You probably would do better with Reddit Jed McKenna sub if you
are looking to have conversations about McKenna work. However,
you will not find many 'done' people there either, because
usually 'done' people avoid conversations about being done.
I came back because I have attachment to this place. Not to its
spiritual/Jedddism/enlightenment/guru et al. values, but to the
people who walked with me. You know... like having served in the
army together, and we 'served' well over a decade together.
Normal people here who asked some questions of this life deeper
than the latest fashion trend or the most popular song or the
most hated political leader :)
As a matter of fact, I visited these pages often enough, just
said nothing. Justin brought me back, hey mate!

Hey Kristen, welcome and thanks for your direct and pointed take
on the Kave. As Steve said, at least a couple of factions here.
I'm very much against the sales pitch of the term
'enlightenment' but will testify that what it points to is real
enough: being awake.
What Jed calls Spiritual Autolysis is a real process - not the
only one, but it does the job. Ramana's process will get you
there ...hitting rock bottom and recognising it will also kick
it off for you as well. The trick is in the cleanup operation.
Bottom line, it's about recolonising awareness - you don't get
'there' and it's all smooth sailing thereafter... Unless you
decamp and retire to a distant cave or mountaintop to escape the
urbanised insanity, being awake is (go figure) a conscious
choice, that you need to keep making. There are no algorithms or
shortcuts, but it certainly turns down the volume because you
cannot be more skeptical than someone who is awake in a dream.
Surrender is to the absoluteness of both your own ignorance and
your utter aloneness. Jed's endless sea of nothing forever is
the lowest strata in the hierarchy of experience.
All-encompassing consciousness, unstained by any of its content
- C-Rex - is the highest.
So... are we Atmanic outcroppings, projected as dancing light
and shadows by the Goddess Maya for Brahman's delectation and
delight...?
...or does this pesky 'persistence of the meat' mean that maybe
we are increasingly complex combinations of carbon that reached
a critical neurological mass and became (kind of) self-aware and
very self-absorbed in the process...?
Dreams are cool because literally anything can happen - but then
you need to have actual skin in the game for any of it to have
real, visceral meaning, right...? You can't suspend your
disbelief unless you have some vehicle to help you sink into the
story.
And if I truly knew which it was then I would be God ...and the
experience here would (I suspect) be boring.
...And if you want to discuss Jed's work itself...bring it on! I
modestly consider myself something of a Jedophile and welcome
some fresh input on what you got from it. Do you think it's
germane to what he wrote that Jed turned out to be a little like
Oz...?
