Bro, perhaps the most impressive part about this thread is that
the LEAST "accepting of what is" are those whom deny their true
selves. That which just comes forth naturally without the
preoccupation with being some phony enlightened being... Alanis
thinks it's ironic

I initially came to write on the Kave because a lot of the
things written in the Jed books and similar, I simply could not
understand and was looking for some kind of clarification to
apply in real life situations, which somehow never worked and
still don't. Upon further reflection, I believe Plato's intent
for this site was for like minded people to share from behind
the "iron curtain of the mind" or more recently to "waking up
with a changed perspective". I simply am not there so anything I
write would be a waste of all of our time. Thank you.

Finally catching up in here, Hmm, looks a lot like the Palisades
region of LA, burned to the ground!
When I went searching in 2012 "I" was a wreck, when I stumbled
on the trilogy in 2014 I finally had something, that something
was the idea that "everything" was really "Nothing" (although I
didn't understand it nor could I believe it). Through a lot of
hard work and battle (against "myself" once I found out who the
enemy was) and with the help of a few generous sign posts
coupled with a bit of grace, I saw THROUGH myself and found
there was was "Nothing" here. Nothing. Oh there's rocks and
trees and stuff, food and things that want to eat you, there's a
place to urinate and get a drink and whatever, beyond that it's
all made up, mind stuff.
I have not met another person who has this perspective, I tried
to tell people, explain it, here in the Kave mostly but also in
this non-cyber existence... but all in vain. It's true what Jed
said, every human is a fanatical member of the "Cult of Self"
and not a damn thing that I can do will extract anyone from that
cult... Oh well. Not my job it turns out, I did my work, now
just an ordinary guy going about his business.
Over 10 years here, and nothing. Either I'm a freak or everyone
else is, I'm guessing you know the answer because for 50 years I
was just like everyone else. Doesn't really matter one way or
the other, I'm content and that's what I went searching for in
the first place. Doesn't make "me" special or enlightened or
anything... just Nothing, which for the first time in this life,
finally feels perfect.
Cling to your opinions and think they are right all you want,
why not, everyone else on the planet does. My guess is that that
is the problem Crystal keeps trying to fix, not realizing that
the actual fix is the dropping of all opinions of what's right
or wrong as they arise.
;D
PS. loving Mic's working through of all this, feels right on the
button over here. 8)

Crystal, I truly understand the desire for real world
application of non-dual principles and teachings. It became my
raison d'etre and changed the course of my life because I
couldn't shake the conviction of its potential for helpfulness
(the ultimate measure, I believe) to the context and quality of
the human experience.
What is critical is not to conflate causes with symptoms. In
psychosocial work, almost all clients arrive wanting to do
something about their symptoms - the unpleasant experiences
predicating their search for help. They want help with their
symptoms, while expending vast amounts of energy protecting the
very causes of their afflictions. ("But mah true self!" aka
'ego')
...Isn't this exactly why Pharma has been so successful as a
commercial model...?
"Don't change anything! You do you! Just take a pill!"
But there are no free lunches, physics is as real as the Earth
we walk upon - BUT the stories we share about the experience of
that are, for the most part, utter bullsh!t.
And you simply can't affect - with any degree of conscious
awareness - the underlying root of a situation at the level of
stories about the way they manifest. That's what the Red Queen
tried to do, by painting the roses red. Going back and
re-planting red roses involves a lot of work (rework and
patience, for the Queen, who needed them red and needed them
NOW) - but if you insist on 'solutions' right now - well, how
often do we all get out our buckets and brushes and start
slopping paint...?
...Isn't the world you see a very clear portrait of this same
process, writ large...?
Sounds ridiculous at this level of abstraction - but that is
exactly how it looks from the awakened perspective.
In the context of the Kave, the first question is: have you
experienced the initial insight of 'no self'...? Have you passed
through the Gateless Gate, wondering how it ever even became 'a
thing'...?
If that's as far as you've gotten, then you are on the brink of
what Jed called "the first step".
It's only the first step because the hard part is what comes
afterwards, when you smell something cooking, start to feel the
heat - and realise it's you that is on fire.
And you need that fire, because it is from its ashes that all
possibility springs - including that of actually changing the
world.

J) I was waiting for Plato and Mic to address some of the things
you said but so far they haven't. If you are still around I
would like to acknowledge and respond to some of the things you
said.
Plato and Mic I will address some of what you said, but not till
later in the week when I have more time.

I'd be happy to talk about, clarify or rethink anything I've
said here Crystal.

...really...? I was thinking J('s doing just fine...he's been
working up a good head of steam on his own.
Everyone goes into the dark alone. I'm waiting to see what/if
comes out the other side.
But if you have commentary you feel moved to contribute,
Crystal, please don't hold back. There's no protocol of
restraint here.

J) I could spin my own interpretation of where you were coming
from but just wanted to hear it from you re: statements 1, 2, 3.
1.
2.
3.
4.
within the first few moments of the vid * Humans poisoning
their environment, well who knows how that’s going to affect
their natural nature
5.
real. That's a start. And I'm trying. I just pray to understand
God's Will / what is a lot. I do not pretend to understand. I do
think it's important to have good honest relationships with
people in your life and that it's important to have people
around who care about and will listen and talk to you open and
honestly and vice versa.

Nice! Yes, first things first,. I am at work and would like to
take a second to respond before I start coming up with something
that sounds good!
I have a ton of anxiety that I deal with in different ways. Ive
explain before how I mainly focus on the breath to bring me into
the present and do a lot of exercises in that regard. This
evening I was dabbling with a beer or two. Either way I way
somewhat emotional and basically got pissed upon realizing that
Steve was just in here trying to criticize me rather than
respond to what I said. So that was 1.
2. And 3 are my thoughts on reality as it is and human part in
creating reality but no one ever really talks about that here.
That's fine I'm pretty clear on it. Just think if you don't look
honestly at reality then your living in delusion. How do you
feel about the topic? I asked Mic if he viewed human
interpretation of reality as a problem. What do you think? I
think reality is what it is but we aren't stuck there and have a
ton of agency in which to change our current reality within
certain parameters.
I think a lack of clarity is a problem with human
interpretation. And so I do thank you for asking Crystal. I was
just talking to my girlfriend at work and it's amazing how much
it actually helps to just share with other people.
"j( just fine going down in the dark" whatever that means...

Also find "accepting what is" kinda boring... It is already
done. I see people jumping up and down about what is as a waste
of energy. I tend to focus on creating what will be instead or
at least try. It does take some effort to focus in that regard.
Its like the opposite of victimhood, ownership. And I try to
keep an open relationship with source/God/ what is to stay in
touch with some humility and maybe on occasion just ask for
help...
